I'm trying to think of something I genuinely didn't like and all I've got are minor UI problems with it feeling slightly awkward at times, not always being responsive and the sound going through strange fluctuations in volume. Other than those minor technical issues I can't think of any part of the game that I didn't enjoy.

I'm guessing it will be far more complicated than that. The Scoia'tael might end up allying with Francesca Findabair again- stranger things have happened.Seboist wrote...
Seeing the Order of the Flaming Rose and the Scoia'tael becoming co-belligerents against Nilfgaard would be pretty epic.
My guess is elves will stay neutral this time around. They should be bitter against Nilfgaard handling their officials to the North, but they did protect the common soldiers. And they know the northern kingdoms don´t treat their nonhuman troops well (the dwarf parade after Brenna had me laughing 5 minutes).

Lovers.

So is there a reason why Geralt always wants to rush in when he hears theirmoans? Hoping to get his 'wick' wet?

Or somethign to think aobut before he sleeps.
I know I wouldn't run the other way if I hear something similar

Oh and last question, during chapter 2, there is some sort of comet or shooting star in the sky. Is it?

It's a comet.
If you play on Roche's path, you find out that part of Sabrina's curse on Henselt (which is reponsible for the mist) predicted a comet.
A comet is also, in popular belief, an omen of war.

Yes, i read the journal on that. The Hunt also is a omen of war. During the flashbacks, why does the Hunt only take single people? From the journal, 20 innocents was considered a lot.
How do you become a target for the Hunt? The people taken were between 10 and 20, Geralt is quite old yet he is also a target.

Spoiler
The Wild Hunt is in fact an Elven cavalry from another realm. As for the kidnapping, I heard a theory that this is the way they get their new slaves or such.
Also, I think they went after Geralt and Yennefer because of Ciri and their past dealings with her. Pretty sure not a single name rings a bell to ya, so I'd suggest reading the books by Andrzej Sapkowski to get the full backstory.

True, so it would not consider it a spoiler unless this happens in the game.
This Wild Hunt is quite interesting and i do hope ir becomes more threatening to Geralt. This world they exist in described by the insane man makes it pretty cool, lush elven gardens with unicorns frolicking about. Does not sound bad.
But nevertheless, sounds like it is pretty insane.

The Scoia'Tael are not likely to fight Nilfgaard actively unless they are protecting Upper Aerdirn if it gets established.
Yeah this is what I think as well. So I'm pretty much torn with aiding the Scoi'atel and leaving the provinces at the mercy of douches like Radovid and Henselt and then eventually a Nilfgaardian invasion. Or then I can side with Roche to get an independent Temeria but watch as my dwarven buddies end up hanged.
Saskia's cause is a noble one but frankly...I find it to be a tad unrealistic.

About Triss' statue- I guess you have to assume Geralt never notices it, since he doesn't accuse Philippa.
Question- I'm having trouble with the 2nd phase of the harpy contract. I read you have to drop the traps so that the harpies pick them up and take them back to their nests. I dropped some in the quarry and they're gone now, but there are still harpies spawning and the quest update says 0/7 harpy nests destroyed. What's the deal here.

Yeah, I'll definately be trying out Iorveth's path and playing on a harder difficulty, normal was a walk in the park but don't know if I'm up for dark mode yet. Hardest fight in the game was The Operator who handed me my ass with his summoned gargoyles on our first fight, second time I got lucky and one hit killed him.
Yeah, this fight was epicly brutal. I've reloaded it countless times. The gargoyles could kill me in one successful attack chain... and the fireballs were brutal too. Oly had a slight chance if my Aard managed to stun a gargoyle or 2 for an instant kill. But to do so several times in a row while dodging the fireballs and the attacks of the gargoyles in a pretty tight space... must have been one of most challenging fights I've ever fought.

Zoltan makes the point that even if they fail, they want to be an example for other lands. If you're going to die anyway, it might as well be for a good cause.

That might be a bug. I experienced the same thing in the quarry at first, but when I went into the cavern to check out the dreams, I could drop one anywhere and it worked. Try dropping a trap when you are below one of the nests.

I wonder if knowledge level plays into this. Whats your level of knowledge for Harpies?
I just remember experiencing this as well, but after killing harpies and completing the quest where you kill the Harpy queen, I could set them down anywhere and the ugly things would pick them up everytime...as long as they were around of course.

The worst part is I don't think you get anything particularly useful for beating him. You could do all you can to increase your chance of an instant kill and hope for the best. I couldn't believe it when I went in with one swing and he just dropped.Haplose wrote...

I'm guessing you killed the harpies before they had a chance to pick up the traps, you need to set 4 in the quarry, the rest in the cave.

I need some fast help - I finally started the game, and I'm wondering what skills and abilities are worth investing in and which aren't. I don't want to get halfway through the game only to discover Geralt is a wimp who gets his ass kicked every time an enemy appears on the screen.
For now, just don't invest in arrow redirect or dagger throwing. Upgrading parry and vigor regen is priority. Once the other trees open up, I think a hybrid build is best, ie; pick a major and minor in another build. Also notice there's a massive vitality upgrade in the begining of the alchemy tree. I get it no matter what.
