says the reviewer..now i dont take this guy seriously because he has no idea what a rpg means.
You have to realize that the reviewer wanted to compare the game to something ... and for that purpose he chooses game that won almost all awards in it's respectable categories and is the epitome of what todays players think is RPG...

Good example would be that I grew up on on old school games like the origianl Bards Tale, Wizardry, Ultima, etc - so to me the aspects of those games define to me what an RPG is since that is what I am most familiar with. Now with current games you see a lot of diverging paths in play style and control which could make me say that they are no longer RPG's, however someone who came in and played all those games may decide in there own opinion that they are considered RPG's since that is what they are more familiar with.
It comes down to perception in the end really due to either consumers or companies broadening the term wither by accident or by design.
It can be argued that modern RPG's are not RPG's since you are playing a much more active part in combat (almost to the point of pure hack and slash) however that is more due to the evoloving industry.
Honestly I do miss the old school dungeon crawlers though.

Think I'll head over to GOG and pick up one or two for Nostalgia.

What is even worse is comparing the game to ME2, is the guy crazy, why not just say that TW2 is rubbish.

As much as I love Mass Effect, I just lost all interest to read that review since he is comparing totally different games.

and the journalist says
Keep in mind different playthroughs greatly differ in terms of content (not like Dragon Age when you only get a few meaningless, new sentences in a converstation). One of the senior staff members then pointed out that sidequests at least double the content available in a single run making it ~50 hours long - AGAIN, in a *single* playthrough, not counting the additional content you *will* miss.
