A question to all:

On your first playthrough, did you stay faithful to Triss?

I did.

I did as well. And not because I am a huge fan of Triss. But because I like it better from a story perspective, especially considering the inevitable love triangle in TW3.

My Geralt wasn't faithful to Triss in TW1 and he wasn't either in 2.

I love Triss, although I think I know what Geralt will do in TW3 if Yennefer appears.

However much I might disagree.

I wonder if they'll do anything with Ves in TW3, since she was the only "real" romance interest in TW2 other than Triss.

Nope. Chucked her the first chance I got. Her character rubbed me the wrong way. But I warmed up to her in the last act. Then again I only played TW2 and their past relationship is lost on me.

Hmm... I think I might play another game before Sleeping Dogs comes out. I think I finally might be over my fantasy hatred. Well, for the moment anyway.

Is this because you didn't like Triss' character, you liked seeing all available content, or because of how the world in The Witcher treats relationships?

I play Geralt as romantic with Triss, so yes, he was a choir boy. Though still tempted at times to have a meaningless roll.  Cynthia wasn't one of those.

My cannon right now is that Geralt takes Triss with him in the baths but doesn't have sex with her, he does say she is important to him, but not important enough for him to abandon the hunt for Letho.

I have sex with everyone I can except the ****s and at the end of TW2 when I find out about the lodge and Triss's role in that organization my Geralt is sickened by that due to the events of the first battle of Vergen which she must have been involved in. So he doesn't care if she dies on Roche's path and on Iorveth's he only saves her for the information she has and nothing more. ( I love his dialogue when you take that path. "You don't know how much I want to believe you."

Also on Iorveth's path he only joined Iorveth for the information the elf has about Letho, he doesn't give a damn for Saskia.

Actually, correction: with and without a Pulse.

(remembers vampire triplet in Witcher 1)

My Geralt simply doesn't believe in monogamy. ^_^

You know Geralt according to the books just isn't a very faithful character when it comes to sex. Geralt just loves sex an doesn't shy away from cheating, be it on Yennefer or Triss.

The only time he cheats on Yen is when he thinks she´s betrayed him and Ciri. Although after he learns the truth his only regret is he won´t get laid anymore for some time.

I don´t think I´ll do the bath again though, sex with Triss felt wrong considering why they went to the baths.

So, a little surprise for the Steam users.

And before you cry about ONE achievement just stop. Only the Steam version has achievements now help us with the riddle cause I have no idea!

Saw this on the Steam forums:

Clicking on one of the shrines outside of Flotsam gives you a new ability: it basically adds fire damage to Quen to incinerate people.

I've no problem with Steam users getting an exclusive bit of content since there's been numerous technical difficulties with the Steam version, likely because of Valve. GoG---->Steam. Steam's required client is a pain. Seriously, don't buy the game from Steam when you can get it DRM free, and with extra content from GoG - makes no sense. Just download the game with your browser and play.

I wonder if this ability extends for the whole game? It should.

^Yeah, that's how it goes. Ves not getting any closure was a bit of disappointment for me.

Ves was underused but I expect to see her in TW3. I was pissed we didn't get to know Cedric better, such an awesome character. Sometimes CDPR just skims the surface of characters when they should go a bit deeper.

Gamasutra's top 30 CDPR is in there.

What The Witcher Taught CD Projekt About RPGs

"In Cyberpunk's case, how are you approaching the series' existing pen-and-paper rule set? Is it influencing the way you approach design?

MI: We are not limiting ourselves to using a certain set of rules, but rather we're looking at it as a general [guideline]. We'll use it as much as it makes sense, and of course we'll really rely on the support of [Cyberpunk creator] Mike Pondsmith.

He's a game designer who's also knowledgeable about computer games, and he's been really excited to work with us. We think we can really use his expertise to the advantage of the game, and that's something we didn't have with The Witcher. He's consulting with us on a fairly regular basis.

AB: We'll share ideas with each other, and of course if we have questions about getting the mechanics down or things like that. It's been good, he's really...

MI: He's the oracle.

AB: (Laughs) Yeah, he's our wise man, and I think he's really been a great guide. He's been a really big help for us."

I always like Gamasutra.
