:D Well that doesn't narrow it down too much, there are still half-a-dozen of those in Witcher 2

Well, I didn't say I'd give it away completely:lol:

I finally completed TW2 on dark difficulty and also managed to get every achievement besides the poker one (I'm not even going to bother with that one). And I felt like giving at least a reaction here.
I also bothered (for curiosity's sake of course) to read most pages in this thread since the release because I wanted to see "release reactions". Never have I seen a game where people went in such interessting discussions (and where the writers even joined at times). From people making blogs about the politics that were really interesting to great let's plays( hell I'm still watching a let's play about TW2) that someone recently started.
You guys are great and I hope the discussions in the TW3 thread are going to be just as awesome as the ones in TW2.

Oh yeah I do have one question though. How does one justify giving Anais to Natalis?
I want to have a lot of different saves to import in TW3 but I'm not really sure how I can make that decision. I mean giving her to Radovid makes so much more sense imo. So does anyone here have a good reason why Geralt whould convince Roche to give her to Natalis?

Well... Natalis is a Temerian hero - general from the battle of Brenna. You could say that he is a real patriot and the only one besides Roche that really gives a damn about Temeria. Giving Anais to him would allow him to preserve the legitimacy of Temerian throne, not to mention that he could protect her and the land from all those who would forcefully try to deny her the throne.

Radovid is a cunning politician and all he seeks is basically, gaining more power and expanding his realm - if you give him Anais you basically allow him to annex Temeria. All that of course if you care about those kingdoms at all ! : ]

I always role-played my Geralt as someone who didn't give a damn about politics. I mean, as far as he concerned - what kings rule and what kingdoms fall, that's just none of his bussiness.

Well I guess that makes sense. I'm just worried that Nilfgaard will defeat temeria if they become independent by giving anais to John Natalis.
As for role-playing for the time being I try to have a lot of different saves with different choices. I don't even have a canon run yet because the choices in TW2 are so hard that even after all this time I'm still not 100% sure what choices I want to make canon. Of course it's one of the things I like TW2, the hard decisions.

Is that a soup ladle? lol

I'm finally back to my replay of Witcher 1 for the purpose of importing into Witcher 2. Found a fun CTD that can happen if you're trying to be REALLY neutral.

I didn't do any quests for Order or Elves, got into Chapter 3 and was working on Lock and Key. Because I'd done no faction quests, Goldrush! couldn't occur. When I turned in Lock and Key, the game CTD attempting to initiate Unforgiven, the quest requiring me to contact an ally (Order or Elves). Doh!

The game let me catch up by doing Six Feet Under for the Order, which allowed Goldrush! to immediately begin, which allowed Unforgiven to be added to my journal without CTD. *whew* Talk about a railroad job. (Had another railroad job happen with Shani; I wanted to give her a white rose symbolizing friendship, but she would accept nothing but red rose!)

Looking forward to some Witcher 2. Have been browsing mods on the nexus; most recent acquisition is a grass mod that extends the draw horizon "indefinitely", or a bit beyond Skyrim's limit.

Well just to get the Defibrillators out on a pretty much, completely dead thread, I've just got TW2 and I'm enjoying it so far. By which I mean I'm agonising over decisions I've made already, which is good in my book.

A question for hardcore TW2 veterans about a specific ending.

How does the ending/epilogue play out if Geralt sides with the Blue Stripes, but helps Iorveth escape in Flotsam. Follows Roche to the Kadweni camp, breaks the curse on Henselt, but helps Zoltan fight the Kadweni? Does Geralt end up in Loc Muine with Roche? And following that Geralt helps Temeria secure it's independence by rescuing Annais.

What does the political landscape of the North look like if Geralt follows this path?

A question for hardcore TW2 veterans about a specific ending.

How does the ending/epilogue play out if Geralt sides with the Blue Stripes, but helps Iorveth escape in Flotsam. Follows the Roche to the Kadweni camp, breaks the curse on Henselt, but helps Zoltan fight the Kadweni? Does Geralt end up in Loc Muine with Roche? And following that Geralt helps Temeria secure it's independence by rescuing Annais.

What does the political landscape of the North look like if Geralt follows this path?

Giving the sword to Iorveth or Roche only influences what happens in Flotsam directly after the decision.

Giving the sword to Roche-> Iorveth get's captured-> there is a celebration in Flotsam

Giving the sword to Iorveth-> Some of Flotsam's townguards get killed-> Loredo uses the opportunity to start a pogrom in Flotsam

It has no effect on the ending.

The only thing in Flotsam that changes the political state at the end (aside from the siding with Iorveth/Roche choice of course) is, if you kill Loredo or not.

If you kill him, Flotsam remains Temerian. If you don't kill him (only possible on Iorveths path) he sells Flotsam to Kaedwen.

You can't choose Zoltan's side if you sided with Roche. While you don't fight directly for Kaedwen, you also don't fight for Vergen. You always go to Phillipas quarter (or  to Iorveth before it, but you can only talk to him) and then get the choice to either kill or spare Henselt.

Do not question the ladle. King Henselt is right to fear it.
