I was on Steam yesterday and it looks like they are now offering Witcher 2 items (hats) for Team Fortress 2.  Considering some people will do almost anything for that add on stuff this will probably guarantee about another 5000 sales at least.

Well good for them. I'm actually trading my hat codes some indie games so awesome.

But it's more then a hat you get the Witcher Medallion I think it's a hat, you get Geralt's ponytail and a sword.

I bought The Last Wish on Kindle for iPhone and it's actually pretty good.

I like the physical form more, but Amazoning English (because the Hungarian translation is beyond ridiculous) books aren't cheap because it slaps the package/delivery/VAT prices on each one of them, so you have to look for bundles. I've saved around 40 £ on the entire Dark Tower saga from Stephen King with an used bundle deal.

I know, but most people just automatically refer to that whole seen as hats.  SO figured I should add that in so people get it at a glance.

But still it is smart marketing for additional sales.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then I only just read that bit last week.   PE (or FE depending on the spelling)...

EDIT: should've read the next page first before posting, the post right before me spells it out.   But yeah that's who I was thinking of too.

Thats like making a game adaptation of Anthony Trollopes work.

As for Bioware they are a developer, I am sure they take pride in their work.
Seeing how badly received DA2 was, must have been depressing.
I am sure they have their regrets. Lets hope something good comes out of it.

Actually I'm starting to see how unfair the gaming industry is.
Just read a report by a major bank, making estimates and projections, about CD Projekt.
They decided their shares were overvalued and recommends investing in another developer.
The thing is the other developer is an ongoing joke. They have been developing their big title for the last 8 years or something, changing their engine like 3 times now, and constantly announcing the new IPs, that never come to beeing. Now contrast that with CDP which has done pretty much everything right. Its like the quality of the product is irrelevant and has little to do with share prices. Its pure madness.

All it takes is one bad report for the investors to step back.
Maybe its not EA or Bioware thats at fault, perhaps its the general state of ignorance in the industry. Just to give you an example they actually said TW3 will be released in 2014, and they give estimated sales figures !!!

This report is coming from a reputable institution. I find no words for this.

If The Witcher 3 will be released in 2014 i see nothing wrong in it. 3 years is probably enough for a good sequel.. compared to 18months...

Thats not the issue. How do they know the release date, or the sales figures for that matter?
Do they employ a full time prophet? This is pure speculation. It may cause some damage.

Unfortunately that's pretty much how all businesses work.  Even when the value of the shares reflect the actual value of the company the stock market still discourages long term profits.  The system is broken, it forces companies to take actions that don't actually improve the health of the company but instead increases the 'confidence' of their investors and the so-called experts from those 'reputable' institutions. 

Companies should aim to please their customers in order to gain more profits, instead they are now more concerned with appeasing their filthy shareholders, ensuring they continue to make money (without actually making money) and is something that is at least partially to blame for the current economic problems.

Which is why Piranha dumped them. Good for them.I enjoyed the Gothic series and it took me a long time for Gothic III to even be playable for me.

I admit EA has gotten better but the crap they pulled with Bioware rushing them on DA2 just really set them back. Now DA2 most likely won't outsell Origins and they pissed of Bioware's fanbase. Nothing Bioware can do EA owns them now sadly.
