Nah.. they've learned their lesson. From a GoG post, first patch changelog: (so the patch is ready and players may get it as they activate the game, I guess)

Several major balance fixes (economy and fight)
On screen fixes (items descriptions, journal etc.)
Audio mix fixes
Several audio areas, music, cutscene fixes and added better sounds
Many UI fixes (functional, smoother and more user friendly ex. inventory items selection)
Many fixes to quests, quests markers
Visual fixes to fade outs, blackscreens in scenes, cutscenes
Many community fixes - work, npc’s life
Big opponents fights balance and fixes
Many cutscenes fixes - animations, items, lipsync
Gamepad fixes - playing gamepad is now much better
Camera fixes - collisions with objects, collisions with npc’s, combat camera improvements
Some hair physics fixes
Minor QTE fixes
Several locations fixes - objects collisions, envoirements improvements, lights, effects
Crafting, shops, alchemy improvements
Added new autosaves in important places (ex. before fight with Letho, Arachas, Draug)
Some random crashes fixes
Dice poker improvements - logic bugs fixes

@Naughty - all times are GMT, man! That is the centre of the planet, not the west coast! =P And Steam should inform its customers about what is the activation time for them. For GoG it is 7am GMT on the 17th! (4am my time, 12am PST if I'm not mistaken)

PS - someone is playing the game live.. We can watch how much it "sucks" in real time! lol

Just saw a comment about a falling through the floor of the world classic bug :P . Also people complain about combat being to hard and getting one shotted. This is looking bad. I hope it is just some crazy angered trolls that write those comments.

Tamahome560 wrote...

Seems like most of the people can play it now but general consensus is that it is full of bugs and very badly optimised. I hope there won't be a need for an EE ...

From the live stream, none of those accusations seem to be true, then again he's only playing on medium

Just finished the retrospective part of Prologue. Oh my...

The game doesn't seem to recognize Crossfire. That means I'm unable to play on Ultra, but high is very fluent and looks hawt too.

I'm not sure if it's just me but there seems to be an occasional microscopic imput lag in combat. Doesn't really bother me that much but should be mentioned. Note this is the pre patch version.

Combat is hard. Even on normal. One on one you're going to be fine, two on one is tricky, three on one is a fight for your life, 4 or more you have no chance. Aard and Yrden are a must, as is blocking. Rolling is not good enough to spam it, better to position yourself correctly. You can't insta switch between swinging your sword and, say blocking, Geralt has to regain some balance beforehand so no kamikaze strikes or you're dead.

Yeah, I'm going back to the dungeon.

ouinnnnnnnnn , people who have receive their colelctor edition could play the game now

Activation and playing the game will be possible:

- at 00:01 hour at the night between 15th and 16th May for the Collector's Edition

- at 00:01 hour on 17th May for the Premium Edition

- at 09:01 hour on 17th May for the digital editions

why amazon don't  send me my game >< only tommorrow ><

What time zone? PST? And why in the hell would they punish people who buy the digital version. We are generating a lot more profit than the non-CE boxed version because there is no manufacturing, shipping cost or retailer margin.

Does whichever website you're getting those times from mention when we can begin downloading our Steam pre-orders?

time zone gmt from cdpr website

9:01am GMT on May 17, right?
So that means everyone in the US who bought the game on Steam can start downloading/unlock at 2:01am PST ?

It might have regional releases.  My Steam Store timer has the countdown ending at 10:00am Pacific, which is the usual time games release on Steam.

The usual time games release on Steam for me is 12:01am PST

At least all of the games I bought pre-order on Steam unlocked at this time.

Steam rarely has midnight releases.  usually it's just for major titles like CoD.

DA2 was a little late for some reason, it unlocked at around 12:10; however, Civ5 and Fallout New Vegas both unlocked at 12:01

9:00 am would be a PITA because I will be working at that time - hopefully it's 2am.

But you said there is a countdown somewhere on Steam? I couldn't find it on the witcher store page

Like that about the combat. Reminds me of Gothic and Risen. You couldn´t fight stupid and survive.
