Yeah, I wonder if the different endings can actually affect your perception of it being a cliffhanger or not. As for the targeting in combat, I think that was in the day one patch notes as something that was tweaked, so maybe its improved already over the version the press has gotten.slimgrin wrote...
The ending seems to be a sticking point with some reviewers. One has to wonder how different they truly are and if some endings are better than others. Poor targeting in group combat is another thing that is mentioned, and I was worried about this myself. Just about everything else from dialog, c&c, atmosphere, story, side quests, alchemy, environments; all get praise in the reviews I've read.
The Legendary "The Witcher 2" RPG.

I'm gonna just express myself here. CE people are playing, PIRATES are playing and I'm not. As a legitimate customer, I'm pissed. I'll try to relax and play something else as I've finished my preparation for a test. Caffeine must be getting me. I'll be having my test tomorrow while thinking about playing TW2. Shouldn't be good.<_<
Cuca fresca ae mermão!
There are no reason whatsoever for you to be pissed. CE owners are playing (Polish at least) because they paid a ****load more money than us and they're from the same country as the devs.
Other CE owners around the planet will have to wait until unlock time on the clock (which has already past right?)
Free downloaders can do whatever they want and many of them will end up buying the game but they cannot get the goodies we will get when registering our keys unless they do buy a legit copy!
We're some 6 hours from activation (GoG PDE at least) so be cool... play something else for lousy 6 hours... after three years the waiting is coming to an end! And that's fraking awesome!!!!
I have my problems handling anxiety. Specially from games I'm waiting so much. I hope D2D (where I got it and I guess I'll have to 2h+ compared GoG) delivers it on the right time. The whole download will be another pain, hope the servers don't disappoint on getting me a full speed.
You should play Ballad of Gay Tony for GTA IV. It's very funny.

How hard must I bash the ground with my club before the stars bless us console gamers with this brilliant work of art? For those that have played it, is the combat similar to Demon's Souls? It looked very similar from the videos.
I think their "goal" was to make combat similar to Batman Arkham Asylum

Not sure if that Polish guy is still feeding it. Link is lost somewhere in this thread but on the OP of its own thread here on Off Topic!

Yeah that was their goal. If you look back at TW1 combat, this isn't a degradation, it's a huge improvement

It's a great ending. One of the best of any game I played!
Now, that's why I went for GoG. It is CDProjekt owned, bigger share of the profit for them, they have NO DRM whatsoever and I could pre-load my premium digital edition (95% of it - over 9GB, only 120MB that will d/l at unlock time) a few days ago, for 45 bucks! Some pre-order bonus were available right away, other stuff like manual only at the
unlock time but the important thing is that at 7am GMT and lousy120MB d/l I'm ready to go... No sleep here tonite!

I actually love TW1 combat. It's pretty awesome when we master it and can chain combo after combo and the higher level talents make it even more awesome.
From what I read about TW2, it has the same mechanics and we can switch styles without breaking the combo chain, which is awesome! And using signs without breakin the combo as well!

The Wichter 2: Assasins of Kings Interview with Edge Magazine
Which games have had the biggest effect on CD Projekt's direction for The Witcher 2?
We get inspired by many games, obviously, like any game developer. I can't say specifically whether it's Heavy Rain, Demon's Souls or Arkham Asylum that has inspired us most over the past few years – it's probably a mix of all of them. I think everyone will find elements of Demon's Souls, though, definitely. We don't auto-scale opponents, for example. If you want to compare it to anything, Demon's Souls is definitely good. I'd like that, for sure.

They took some cues from Arkham Asylum, but overall it looks much different, and quite a bit harder to my eyes. One noticeable difference is the enemies in TW2 don't take turns to attack like the do in AA. They seem to have no qualms about flanking and slashing you simultaneously. Thats what happened to the guy streaming the vid this morning and he was killed pretty quick. Group management in combat is going to be hard I think.
I decided not to watch the recording of live stream due to the fact it may (mostly will) contain spoilers, so I'll just wait it out until I have my CE in my hands.

Yeah, I love Arkham Asylum, but in watching gameplay of the Witcher 2, it looks like managing fights with more than a couple people is hard. Whereas in AA, I thought one of the great things there was how easy it was to fight large groups fluidly.
Eh, if you look at early footage of TW1 it could seem like fighting groups is hard. Of course once you get used to the group stance it is the most stupidly easy thing in the world. I know TW2 is quite different in that regard, but I doubt fighting groups is that much more difficult.
Talking of TW1 combat, I thought it wasn't as bad as some make out but it was still terribly flawed. I think it is either stupidly easy or overly difficult depending on the person playing (and in early game). But then this might all be lumped on whether or not you remember to actually use alchemy. Which is essentially the win button. I can definitely see why it has put people off though.
