Ok so what are you people doing exactly to get banned from games?
I had my priest "lvl itself" and grind honor "itself" for 5 days straight. I can't be bothered with that its too boring.
Steam's approximate is at 14 hours.

I was gonna get it from GoG, but then suddenly a 25% discount showed up, and it didn't matter how much I wanted to support CDPR and own the digital artbook, it was too hard to avoid.RageGT wrote...

Yeah, I'll play some GTAIV, gotta finish this some day lol.
I have my problems handling anxiety. Specially from games I'm waiting so much. I hope D2D (where I got it and I guess I'll have to 2h+ compared GoG) delivers it on the right time. The whole download will be another pain, hope the servers don't disappoint on getting me a full speed.
It's a great ending. One of the best of any game I played!
Now, that's why I went for GoG. It is CDProjekt owned, bigger share of the profit for them, they have NO DRM whatsoever and I could pre-load my premium digital edition (95% of it - over 9GB, only 120MB that will d/l at unlock time) a few days ago, for 45 bucks! Some pre-order bonus were available right away, other stuff like manual only at the
unlock time but the important thing is that at 7am GMT and lousy120MB d/l I'm ready to go... No sleep here tonite!

This might be useful btw. Video card benchmarks on very high details for the TW2.

Damn that doesn't bode well for me. is that using the ubersampling mode?
I will be playing on my laptop which has the 5830M, a gimped version of the 5770 - looks like probably less than 20fps for me. Hopefully my SSD will help a little bit with accessing the hi res textures

Here is another vid - 15 min of first lvl gameplay. Dunno what difficulty settings this player was using but combat seems tough. Fine with me

Witcher 1 sold more than 1 million. I think it's possible

EDIT : Steam TW2 page says approximately 13 hours from now
And yes, the PARAGON is on the Witcher bandwagon, TW1 was awesome.

By the way, here's the unlocking times for Steam. It looks like 9:00 UTC, or 4 am EST.

Thanks! I hope that's the case; however it conflicts with the countdown on the Steam store page for Witcher 2, which says "approximately 13 hours from now" or roughly 9am PST

According to CDPR, they sold >1.5 million on PC alone... DA2 shipped 2 million copies, and thats all three platforms inclusive I believe. If the Witcher 2 turns out a hit, it will outsell those 2 million copies easily.

Well, that's a buzzkill.
OK, well guess the Witcher site is wrong, I guess they were talking about other outlets then.

W1 combat was flawed. For example:
Magic Ritual+Petri's Philter+Tawny Owl+Maxed Igni -> Wtfpwn every enemy.
Oh.. that... well, every game has its cheesy tactics. Never used that because witcher for me is all about swordfighting! Decapitation FTW!!!

Starcraft 1 is PC exclusive and sold over 11 million copies! If gamers fall in love with TW2... I hope they sell 10 million!
Thats because starcraft has very popular multiplayer.

Yes, there is no console version for TW1. I meant to say I think it's possible TW2 will sell 2m PC copies, which would be pretty successful IMO.
If and when there is ever a TW2 port for Xbox and PS3, then of course, it could be much more successful.

So dissapointed in this crappy optimisation...
As for combat, it seems to be based on targetting like in console games, I think I'll play with a gamepad

Game runs like $h!+ for me, even on low (there's not much of a difference in FPS on low or high). What's worse, none of the video options are ingame, like a fraking console port.

How did you get it already? Mouse isn't accurate? What are your specs?

It's not that the mouse isn't accurate, it seems that Geralt can hit only the highlighted enemy, no matter which direction I'm facing.
Specs: AMD Athlon X2 6400+ (3.2 GHz), 4 GB RAM, GeForce 250GTS 1GB.
I know these are old, but I can still play 90% of games on high with about 30 FPS. In the Castle raid, my FPS drops to below 20 no matter which setting (the game looks like absolute crap on low)

Then I'm f*cked.
On the targeting, are you saying the direction you point Geralt has no bearing on who he attacks? It's just literally the nearest enemy?

Also, I don't think there's an option to choose what you did in TW1 if you don't have a save

So if that's the ultra test, i would be able to run Witcher 2 on ultra around 25-28 FPS, is that good?
