Some new facts from the TW2 site:

-Damage will be determined by your skills, items stats, elixirs etc.

-There are going to be plenty of different weapons you will be able to use.

-Geralt doesn’t use shields

-You will carry over some money and certain items from W1

-There will be throwing weapons

-The combat system has been tweaked to be more dynamic but at the same time I can tell you it won’t be button
mashing friendly – you will need to adjust to your enemies to overcome them.

-No disarming, but you will be able to stun them

-You will be able to chop off limbs – not only heads but arms and legs as well

-Geralt will have the same English voice that he had in the first game.

-TW2 will have more variety in every aspect.

-The endings will be different and based on your choices throughout the whole gam

-You will be able to combine various gear elements with each other so the possibilities of creating a unique
looking Geralt are quite big:)

-combat system has been tweaked to be more dynamic, we also enhanced some of the advance features from the first game (more skills, more ways to combine different tactics). Of course it won’t be just simple button-mashing. I’m sure you will like it:)

-Alchemy is still about mixing ingredients just like it was in TW1, we tweaked some things but the general concept of alchemy has remained the same.

-NPC’s will react to dead bodies

-You will be able to reflect arrows being shot in your direction. At later stages you will be able to send them back at the ones who shot them at you.

Wow... Great Job Slimgrin ... I probably wouldn't want to do something like this... how long you write this?...

Well back to topic... If just half of all this is true then I'm happy right now ;)...

If true, it'll be interesting to see if it sells as well on console as it does on pc. TW1 was a definitive crpg, and I have my doubts it would have ever been popular on consoles.

Nice to hear the areas will be bigger and more fun to explore. Now I just cross my fingers and hope for two things:

-no censorship ( fat chance of that happening in America )

-native localization like the first game had.

Makes me sad Shani won't be returning. She was the only relationship I seriously pursued.

So much for being able to "import" our decisions from TW1. Now were stuck with triss which i never cared for. Where was this confirmed btw?

Their website.

I personally discovered importing decisions was basically a gimmick when I played ME2. If I get Aerondight and some of my cash from TW1, I'll be happy.

Besides, they dropped the ball with Shani at the end of TW1, when it really mattered. So her not appearing in TW2 makes little difference.

wooo ... one moment... who say that?... If you choose Shani in TW1 romance with Triss in TW2 on 80% would be impossible... anyway on the first chapters... I don't believe that Triss would be soo kind to forgive you this "little disloyalty" so fast ;)

I prefer Triss, because I'm one of the few who doesn't think she has selfish motives. She's just withholding the reasons behind some of her actions for Geralt's own good. Just my theory, I could be wrong.

And I wouldn't worry about being stuck with anyone in TW2, as they have basically said there will be other ladies to meet. :)

Edit: sorry, I need to be more careful with spoilers.

I went for both and the one that really fits the story, imho, is Triss, so she's the one in the perma-save I have stored to import into TW2. Shani is just the hot red head! Cool friend too but hey, she had a fling with Thaler? Ewwwwww!

I really don't understand what people complain about TW combat. True, I am an old Gothic fan and used to timed click to chain combos. It still took me a while to master it in TW. I felt frustrated, enraged, quit the game promising never to go back. The Archspore in the Swamp early in Chapter 2, on my first run, almost made me break my PC. I couldn't get past it and thought I was at the wrong level to fight it. This in Intermidiate Level!

Then I started a new run, read all the Bestiary entries as I was getting then, studied my opponents, got quite good at the Witcher's styles chain combos, spent some talents on them, talked to everyone in Kaer Morhen. There is a beautiful explanation about Witcher's styles that Eskel taught me, or was it Lambert? Doesn't matter.

I thought Group Style was lame and only developed Strong and Fast styles on those early runs through the game. always at Expert Level now. When I finally decided to try diferent builds and full developed Group style, I started feeling like a real Experienced Witcher, which is so often mentioned in the Bestiary entries about Group style.

I love the story, the many different things I can discover in the game after many runs, the personality my definitive Geralt has, his choices, etc. But I particularly love the sword fight! It's a hell of a fun to master it. That poor Archspore in the Swamp, chapter 2, can't hold me for five seconds since then, even if I get there at a low level.

Those who "hate" the cards probably never took Vesna Hood to the Mill. Funny stuff! Probably never said NO to those nymphomaniac women too? Definitely never danced to La Tour's "People are still having Sex", one of the 90's greatest songs!

All I can do since 2011 started is play The Witcher. Finished my definitive run, which I saved the important files and will be the one I'll import into TW2. Then i couldn't find absolutely nothing better to play than starting a new run in which I'll try, for the first time, to take Geralt to level 50. Takes some grinding and know-how but I love the combat so much that it's being quite a helluva great time!

The Witcher 1 is already a Legend, for me. The Witcher 2 is simply taking it to the Epic level.

She´s just taking advantage her best frined´s boyfriend is amnesiac to get him. As far as we know, she doesn´t even ask whether she´s alive or not (should be dead, but so should Geralt, and she knows Ciri took both their bodies). So I don´t like Triss much so far, even if it´s metagaming. Same with Yaevinn, Geralt doesn´t know how much of a ******* he is, but I can´t just ignore it while playing.

Thanks a lot for this, even if it just increased my anxiety to a level very hard to cope with! So I'm off to run and to the gym afterwards. It's gonna be some very long months until May!

It's just bad storytelling from CD-Projekt. Nothing to do with the character.

That said, hopefully Geralt's personal questline will continue in the sequel. Adn it will actually be revealed how the hell he returned from the dead.

That would be Shani, who went from one night stand to Essi Daven expy.

I can see Triss doing that. Still haven´t read most of the last book, but in the penultimate one she seems to put the Sorceress´s Logia above her friendship with Yennefer. And her love for Geralt didn´t seem too healthy.

It´s also a bit sad, as Geralt´s side of that was a failed attempt at getting over Yenn.

I've only read the first book, and many people have not read any of them, so it might be best not to include spoilers. :(

I'm guilty of this too.

True, but we are talking about the game here. AFAIK, there´s only one big point the game doesn´t spoil. Be careful with spoilers if you read TW entry in TV Tropes.
