Some new facts from the TW2 site:
-Damage will be determined by your skills, items stats, elixirs etc.
-There are going to be plenty of different weapons you will be able to use.
-Geralt doesn’t use shields
-You will carry over some money and certain items from W1
-There will be throwing weapons
-The combat system has been tweaked to be more dynamic but at the same time I can tell you it won’t be button
mashing friendly – you will need to adjust to your enemies to overcome them.
-No disarming, but you will be able to stun them
-You will be able to chop off limbs – not only heads but arms and legs as well
-Geralt will have the same English voice that he had in the first game.
-TW2 will have more variety in every aspect.
-The endings will be different and based on your choices throughout the whole gam
-You will be able to combine various gear elements with each other so the possibilities of creating a unique
looking Geralt are quite big:)
-combat system has been tweaked to be more dynamic, we also enhanced some of the advance features from the first game (more skills, more ways to combine different tactics). Of course it won’t be just simple button-mashing. I’m sure you will like it:)
-Alchemy is still about mixing ingredients just like it was in TW1, we tweaked some things but the general concept of alchemy has remained the same.
-NPC’s will react to dead bodies
-You will be able to reflect arrows being shot in your direction. At later stages you will be able to send them back at the ones who shot them at you.

"THGTR: Are there any news for the console version?
Tomasz Gop: Not at the moment, but, uhm… oh just please have a look at our ‘career’ site on www.thewitcher.com ;)"
soo I think we have here silent confirmation.

So much for being able to "import" our decisions from TW1. Now were stuck with triss which i never cared for. Where was this confirmed btw?slimgrin wrote...

Their website.
I personally discovered importing decisions was basically a gimmick when I played ME2. If I get Aerondight and some of my cash from TW1, I'll be happy.
Besides, they dropped the ball with Shani at the end of TW1, when it really mattered. So her not appearing in TW2 makes little difference.

I prefer Triss, because I'm one of the few who doesn't think she has selfish motives. She's just withholding the reasons behind some of her actions for Geralt's own good. Just my theory, I could be wrong.
And I wouldn't worry about being stuck with anyone in TW2, as they have basically said there will be other ladies to meet.
Edit: sorry, I need to be more careful with spoilers.

It's just bad storytelling from CD-Projekt. Nothing to do with the character.Nerevar-as wrote...
She´s just taking advantage her best frined´s boyfriend is amnesiac to get him. As far as we know, she doesn´t even ask whether she´s alive or not (should be dead, but so should Geralt, and she knows Ciri took both their bodies). So I don´t like Triss much so far, even if it´s metagaming. Same with Yaevinn, Geralt doesn´t know how much of a ******* he is, but I can´t just ignore it while playing.

That would be Shani, who went from one night stand to Essi Daven expy.
I can see Triss doing that. Still haven´t read most of the last book, but in the penultimate one she seems to put the Sorceress´s Logia above her friendship with Yennefer. And her love for Geralt didn´t seem too healthy.
It´s also a bit sad, as Geralt´s side of that was a failed attempt at getting over Yenn.
