I want more options to punch the sh*t out of people. In DAO it was always talk them down or murder them. Why can't I beat some sense into an idiot?

I've had enough of your disingenuous assertions!

+1
And I guess since Hawke is going to be fully voiced we might have the chance for this ) And in a stylish manner ) Commander shepard is too military, Hawke will do it in a medieval Champion of Kirkwall style!

If a mage must use a murder (kitchen) knife, he should at least throw it telekinetically.

That would be way too awesome for the Universe to handle.

True. Such scene would require more epic spechless stares than Bella kiss in the tavern )

Too much realism for the sake of realism would make for one dull game. Origins took place over the course of several months, yet you never carry food around, or toilet paper.

The pack animals are clearly off-screen.

Surely they can't use it again for DA2? Plastic Bag or Cheese Wire then.

Well as an alternative mages could use a spoon.

And then when the murder case goes to trial, he can explain how there is no spoon!

Thank you, goodnight!

And here I was about to say "It's blunt you idiot, it'll hurt more!"

Great movie!

I really hope we see the return of the murder-knife.  Or some other tool that only shows up when something needs to be killed in a cutscene.  I'm open to other options.  I like the idea of Hawke removing an angry badger from his pack to throw at people.  Murder-badger has a nice ring to it.

Badgers are protected though.

How about mushrooms? Or a snake?

We still have a murder knife in DA2! It's mostly used in situations where, well, someone just needs a good stabbin'. Most of the 'bigger' kills, we try to handle via class-specific animations, but not everyone warrants being ripped apart by magical forces.

It is, however, a different murder knife now.

Having said that, we might go back into some of the scenes with the simple stab and see if they warrant a more.. harsh approach. That'll depend on how much time we have, of course, and as previously mentioned - sometimes, stabbing is exactly what needs to happen.

I believe mushrooms are fine to use as utensil of murder, but what if the mushrooms are protected by the snake?

Is there a story behind this knife do you know? Like a strange way of how it came about?

Far as I know, the story was that one day, someone needed to kill someone in cutscene with a knife. Because the player could have any number of weapons, it was decided that they would need a more 'generic' weapon to perform cutscene kills with lest it get out of hand (as cool as it looks to see someone fling a 7-foot long broadsword at someone end-over-end, it's not always practical, y'know?)

So the murder knife was born. And thus it passed into legend that the kitchen knife from the Warden's home was the most enchanted and powerful weapon in the land, but only under certain circumstances.

That's good news! And i like the "class-specific animations". I'm sure it'll be spectacular.

Harsher way is also good. Please make some iconic stabbing for us )))

Does this mean that starting a conversation with, say, the Archdemon and then sucker-stabbing it in the foot with the murderknife would have been an insta-kill?

Is it still a throwing weapon?

But is Hawke's knife the pair to the Warden's or is it the same one?

That's harsh... Poor Connor. But I can't stop laughing imagining it. With a camera that only shows the tension on Warden't face... And the sound of cut flesh... with a hammer... This really needs skill )

Unless Im wrong, I think that I saw the "Knife of Death" in one of the leaked gameplay videos (I think it was the Russian E3).  So it appears that it does return
