You also forgot Brother Geneviti - Yeah, straight in the back of the skull. NOT that i have homicidal tendancies.

The knife appears to be a small, curved blade, bit like a mini-scimitar. The only quick death was Loghain's, but he was a noble after all. But, like abat - you'd want a quick, painless death. Is there such a thing?

Heh, seeing that picture out of context made me wonder if it was a suggested alternative to the murderknife...

That's gross ...

Judging by our previous posts, I guess you and I are not ones to talk.

Well, guess you're right Posted Image

But on the other hand sometimes it seems that there are thing out there compared to which a murder knife is rather merciful Posted Image

German and Australian gamers would disagree with you.

Violence always gets by more easily than N*zi flags and drug use, respectively.

And certainly, more easily than sex.
Boobs be damned, they're the work of the devil

Ahh murder knife....

First I met you , I was at Ostagar , cutting some prisoner's belly for its key. Then I met you again when 'Good Brother' tried to share the news.

How did I regret that I didn't use you when I executed Loghain.........

We still have a murder knife in DA2! It's mostly used in situations where, well, someone just needs a good stabbin'. Most of the 'bigger' kills, we try to handle via class-specific animations, but not everyone warrants being ripped apart by magical forces.

It is, however, a different murder knife now.

Having said that, we might go back into some of the scenes with the simple stab and see if they warrant a more.. harsh approach. That'll depend on how much time we have, of course, and as previously mentioned - sometimes, stabbing is exactly what needs to happen.

Is there a story behind this knife do you know? Like a strange way of how it came about?

Far as I know, the story was that one day, someone needed to kill someone in cutscene with a knife. Because the player could have any number of weapons, it was decided that they would need a more 'generic' weapon to perform cutscene kills with lest it get out of hand (as cool as it looks to see someone fling a 7-foot long broadsword at someone end-over-end, it's not always practical, y'know?)

So the murder knife was born. And thus it passed into legend that the kitchen knife from the Warden's home was the most enchanted and powerful weapon in the land, but only under certain circumstances.

This is why I love you. You are hilarious!!!!!

I want more options to punch the sh*t out of people. In DAO it was always talk them down or murder them. Why can't I beat some sense into an idiot?

I've had enough of your disingenuous assertions!

+1
And I guess since Hawke is going to be fully voiced we might have the chance for this ) And in a stylish manner ) Commander shepard is too military, Hawke will do it in a medieval Champion of Kirkwall style!

This -would- be pretty cool, wouldn't it? :P

If a mage must use a murder (kitchen) knife, he should at least throw it telekinetically.

That would be way too awesome for the Universe to handle.

True. Such scene would require more epic spechless stares than Bella kiss in the tavern )

I had a kill scene once where I forgot to apply an animation to the player, and it was one of the most unintentionally hilarious things I've seen. Just the player, staring at the target, and then suddenly a knife appears two feet in front of him and flies right into the target's throat. I even had FaceFX where the player narrowed their eyes.

Please keep this one for a mage kill Epler!
