It's part of her sleeve I think. Like on figure skating leotards, with the little finger loop, you know?

That's what I thought, but it runs pretty clearly under her sleeve to me (or do I have vision problems?), and it doesn't actually touch her finger. Plus, there's a bit of a line and a space between the triangle, not just a whole red piece.

It looks like it runs between the index finger and the middle finger, and then up again on the other side. I see red in her palm on the running away picture.

Notably only Carver has a weapon--Bethany doesn't either. I would assume it's because she's a mage and shouldn't go traipsing around with a big ole staff (Ser Bryant being only slightly suspicious of a mage Hawke in Circle Robes, a glowing nimbus of blood magic, and a pointy, evil-looking darkspawn staff comes to mind).

So perhaps that's why Hawke isn't equipped? He's a mage, too?

That makes sense, considering Mage Hawke wouldn't need a weapon to defend him(her)self.

Nice theory. Would certainly increase replayability.

I don't think the trailer contains enough information to make any conclusions as of yet.  Maybe people had been switched out of the party when trailer cut scenes were recorded, etc.

And Dave beat me by a few minutes while I was eating my Wheaties (gotta have my breakfast of champions if I'm going to have any chance of becoming Champion of Kirkwall) and thought the red thing was where she hid all her tied together scarves... She is a magician mage after all.

:D But I loooove speculation! It was fun seeing that and going "juicy new information!" that I hadn't noticed before. On that note, we also see Carver getting beat up by the ogre in the trailer, so clearly it's not one distinct playthrough of clips.

Yeah this. It does indeed go under her sleeve cuff but I don't think that excludes it from being attached to it anyway, or perhaps a sort of glove thing. It just seems an odd placement for a marking, to have it look exactly like that type of finger loop.

Well it could be Bioware way of thinking. If Hawke is not a mage, and the game is about mages and the chantry then you lose personal involvement. So they give non-mages Bethany which involves them again. I can't say I like it but it sounds like something Bioware would do.

Anyhow, I also caught Bethany and Warrior Hawke (and Varric) in the same shot, and peasant Hawke with a murder knife in screenshots in my edited post.

Also, I voted my own thread a three star, dammit.

The Hawke-stabbing-a-guy scene makes me think Duncan's beard took over Hawke and it thinks the other guy is Jory.

The more important question is if lack of glory was mentioned.

Still think it'll be Aveline that makes way for Carver. I'm pretty sure the footage from London with her in it didn't include Carver. Plus I can totally see them spinning it so that you actually feel guilty for saving your brother.

Why not? I'd buy DLCs which change the content in a way I prefer. Or I'd just use a mod that changes it for mePosted Image

Well if a gentleman, assuming there is one, does have the choice to save his brother or a lady, what would be the proper choice?

It obviously depends on the lady. So far, Aveline hasn't done much to make herself eligible for saving. :P

His brother. The only reason to pick this random lady you don't know is because someone would think you should, as if a random lady is more important than family. Neither deserves to live more than the other--picking the other is simply punishing your brother for being related to you, and no other reason.

It's like the Kaidan/Ashley choice where people said you'd be wrong to pick your love interest. So long as there's no pressing reason to pick Kaidan over Ashley (assuming you're male), why should you pick Kaidan? Essentially you're killing someone for being in a relationship with you.

With regard to the red bit on Bethany's hand, It's quite obviously the tip of some wrist mounted rocket launcher. however I reserve the right to be mistaken at this time.

Well it depends. I picked Ashley even though Liara is always my LI. I don't even like Ashley much, not to mention better than Kaidan. That why I ask the question this way, I believe a gentleman is always supposed to save the lady. For once, your brother would have live on in the knowledge that a lady died for him. Which is a bit awkward for him and me as well. Men live and die for women. That's maybe a bit conservative thinking, especially in a game like DA where men are not really stronger or more powerful in battle than women, but well, it's the way I think.

I'll reserve judgment until it becomes clear whether it's possible to train Bethany as a Jedi/Sith.

Rocket launchers would imply she's a bounty hunter, probably Mandalorian.
