Now I'm unsure which class will be my first playthrough - 2-H warrior or mage.

Most likely because they (probably) wouldn't be allowed to take pictures of the game itself.
Woot. Assuming shortswords are actually shortswords and not just daggers. As a Rogue, Hawke packs a pair of short swords that perfectly
demonstrate the precision and efficiency that Muzyka is talking about.
Because I was scared rogue Hawke would have to use plain daggers the whole game, tbh.

Well the screenies are looking better at least. I try not to make too many judgements based on demo reviews but I'm not sure "a one sided massacre" and pressing a button to sidestep attacks conforms to retaining the tactical aspects of DAO. Although to be fair I guess DAO was mostly one sided massacres anyways, that's just one of the things I was hoping would be "fixed" for this iteration.
Would be nice to know what difficulty the demo is.

True, I highly doubt they would be showcasing something that was frustratingly hard even if game difficulty settings are nailed down at this point. Just for personal taste I'd like to see a demo of someone playing and getting completely destroyed though.

Generally if it's a press demo, easiest or not-quite-as-easy-as-easiest. No point having the guy playing the game die and then having to reload etc.

Hawke is invincible, though. Said people wouldn't die, they'd just know they would be dead.

I don't mind the evasion move. Placement is important in Origins, and why shouldn't a character be able to evade attacks, especially a rogue? It's still an activated move, just like the Warrior's "Charge" ability. I am curious, however, as to how they'll implement that move on the PC since they don't have dualsticks. WASD?

My Lord, can we please have at least one preview be the PC version? Not even a gameplay video just a preview for journalists to know that it still exists?

You don't think that's just the tiniest bit condescending to console players?

I think that's just for the exaggerated demo that was making the rounds, the bit that was posted from the Russian convention had the whole party dying (well controlled character aside of course). Whereas before everyone would be stuck at like 10%.

Thats the vibe I got from the author:
dispensing with the more considered, chess-like pace of the first game
for something more attuned to those with a short attention span.
wade in with a big sword and get hacking.
While we're not entirely sure why we're dismembering a few weedy miscreants, the ensuing battle... no wait... one-sided massacre, is enjoyably gory and the control system is immensely intuitive, even for a button-mashing action gamer weaned on less tactical fare.
you can still hammer the A button for a chain of basic attacks, before punctuating a combo with a swift and lethal special attack. You can also tap A with a direction for an evasive roll,

Well, I can't say I like any reviewer that starts off his review condescending on the fanbase. But, still.

Eh considering the console players have been the focus so far with the marketing so far, I don't blame anyone for being a tad condescending towards the console skus. I mean I don't think its too much to ask to actually see some PC footage at this point that isn't a heavily cinematic based new **** type of trailer.

The opening paragraph is spot on for some. The reviewer must lurk on these forums.

So the condescension is entirely predicated on the marketing of DA2? When PC information and reviews are inevitably released, it will stop?CoS Sarah Jinstar wrote...
