It isn't.  That feature was specifically added to consoles (with an option to turn it off) because console players explicitly asked for more player input.

It's still not twitch.  It's nothing remotely like a twitch game.  Relax.

before you start rampaging, the pc version has auto attack on default.
on consoles it's an attack per click, but there is also auto attack available through the radial menu.

The option to turn it off? You mean the autoattack radial option? I was under the impression you'd have to choose that every time you wanted to go on "autopilot," as it were, not that it was a full-blown toggle.

I'm not exactly sure how it works.  I was under the assumption that there's a toggle somewhere either in the radial menu or within the game's options.  But I'm not going to be playing it on the console, so I haven't really checked.

That being said, if I *was* playing it on the console, I'd leave it on.  It only effects the character you're controlling, and toons ordered to attack while paused are going to auto-attack as normal.  So I think it's a good feature for consoles.

i prefer it to be an attack per click on consoles, while i played on ps3 i found myself clicking the attack button a few times to get my character to stop shuffling and get him to attack position faster instead of allowing him to circle the genlock 2 times in a row. so i'm used to it already.

Yes but the XBOX version is more macho cos you need bigger hands to use the control pad.

I actually have pretty small hands, and I still like the XBOX controller better :P

So is this some sort of lightning attack or does Hawke have a particularly powerful flashlight?

Hawke: "There's me keys!"

I'm not sure it's the right place to post it, but i read some negative messages about the lack of screenshots and videos.

Here are some from Igromir, a game exhibition in Russia.

The sites are russian, but i'm sure you'll get the picture. I'm sure though most of you won't find anything new here, but still may be interesting to someone.

I rather think our chap is wearing some kind of cloak here, if only from the waist, an arse cloak perhaps?

Nah, that's just the ass cloak like what Flemeth has. We've already had it confirmed there are no cloaks.

Well I am excited but sad at the same time, they are trying to appeal to a broader group of gamers. I still have high hopes for the game though.

That was a pretty good preview for an achievements site I thought, yeah it focused on some things more pertinent to the console version of the game than the pc version, is that some sort of crime now? I am restricted to playing on console due to not being able to upgrade my pc at the current time and previews like this tell me a lot about how they have improved the way that DA plays (and everyone knows the console version of Origins was the weaker). Sure it sucks that the pc coverage has been limited so far, and seeing as I intend to get Origins and DA2 for the pc one day I also hope to get some more info on the pc version soon, but does that really mean there is a need to disparage a 360 preview or console players in general?

Considering the reputation console players have I see an awful lot of mocking coming from pc players here, in fun or not. We're all Dragon Age fans here aren't we?

Anyway, have we had confirmation that the new demo takes place in Hightown before? It seemed pretty likely/obvious but still nice to have in writing. I have a feeling we start in Lowtown though, especially as it's the first revealed location. So this must take place a little way into your time in Kirkwall. I wonder if the time skip takes place right after the escape or sometime after you've settled in though? I'd guess after you've settled in down in Lowtown and delivered that package maybe.

That preview definitely seems positive and the fact that you can play tactically or more action oriented is a good thing.

I'm not quite sure how things function on the consoles, but they've said something about the auto-attack being changed on the console and that on the PC it's pretty much the same. I assume that we just auto-attack as per usual. Pretty sure they went over the topic in that Peter Thomas thread, but I'm too tired to look for it. :P

Console can access auto attack through the radial (radial being the thing that replaces most of the PC interface).

Ah, that was it - danke. If I forget that again, I'll leave it to you to remind me - hehe.
