That said yeah I know it was the whole "more unique" but honestly would've it have killed warriors to use bows?

That one is a little more puzzling, the bow part. I would just chalk it up to, if they gave warriors a bow as well, then they would be getting an unfair amount of love and then people would complaining about that instead.

From a design perspective, at least in my mind, them taking away bow, probably has a lot less to do with warriors then it seems.

Gah. I understand that. It's just urgh. This takes away allof my reasons to play as a warrior...and I'm pretty "meh" on rogues.

I guess I'll stick with mages then.

Edit: LOL @ Hawke's armor. He's a wannabee Warden now? :P

Good catch though!

Looks really nice too. I hope this armor has some decent stats. I'd love to run around in it for a few hours.

I actually WAS excited about that XD Not so much that specific example, but the material system, with tints and such... there were some great third-party material recolors that made the armor progression look really neat. Does this comment mean that that system is out?

Nope. I said less, not none.

Oh, okay, I still love you, then <3

I don't think you really want to use the word rape in this context. I mean, that's a bit silly, don't you think?

Meh. I'll stick to violating then. Though...touchy a bit?

No, it's just that rape has a very specific context to it, and to apply that to a video game, or "George Lucas is raping my childhood", is a fallacious extreme.

...Not really. It's the name of a plant as well. ...And grapes? Well the skin and stalks of grapes after youv'e made wine with them.

And is usually dictative of taking something by force or a violation. Doesn't just have to be sex.

The question is how many armor's are in the game to begin with, or is it like Origins where every type of armor, light, med, heavy looks pretty much the same for the most part anyway? I'd imagine you guys must have massively cut back on loot drops due to the whole lame companion looks decision.

And that is why we made the decision we did, right there. Now followers look unique instead of the same. Love it or hate it, you have to admit it does address a problem.

As to armors, I believe there's at least as many variations as Origins had in terms of model, less in terms of color, but I don't think anyone was all that excited by the subtle difference between brown and tan.

Oh, and there's more light armors, too. Because I think rogues kind of got the shaft in Origins when it came to armor progression.

So rather than make more distinct looking armors, hey lets just remove customization instead, so much easier I guess?

He just said there's at least as many variations as Origins in terms of model. I know how much you love spinning everything into a negative, but now you're just saying the opposite.

I understand the frustration and agree with it to an extent myself. However, if they actually get the foundation of the system down pat, for future iterations they would be able to adda whole hell of a lot more builds. And that is what I am hoping for honestly. I hope new specs/animations will be part of DLC honestly. Imo, they need to take advantage of DLC to flesh-out their mechanics for future iterations.

I hope so. I hope in DA3 I'll adleast have bow wielding warriors if not DW ones.

Eh. Its not that big of a deal.

I never understood the whole deal about the word hate. When someone really hates you there's no need for them to say it. Actions speak far far louder than words.

Or maybe that's just how I was raised. Very much a "words are pretty but ultimately meaningless" childhood.

Ya, I just hope Bioware is one of the few who can see more then quests/items as dlc this time and also get some mechanical based DLC. That would be really cool to me and also the most substantial, imo.

As many doesn't say "Hey we made more distinct looking tiered armor" because the art team had extra time since they stripped companion armor aside from rings and belts totally out of the game. Considering there really wasn't a ton of variety to be honest in Origins even though I'd still rather have OPTIONS, if its the same for DA2 that doesn't matter much in the grand scheme of things.

Maybe if every bit of info and preview didn't scream that DA2 is essentially Dragon Effect, I wouldn't need be so negative.

Eh- I was hoping Origins was the foundation for future DA titles and that DA2 would iterate and build off of Origins the same way content and goodies were added to BG2. For all we know, DA3 will just reboot everything from DA2 yet again.

And yes, DW warrior is a must in any future DA game since its been unjustly excised in DA2:(

While I have to agree with you about the word hate, I think "rape" IS a very big deal... there are plenty of non-sexual contexts in which it's very appropriate, but I think it's a little much to apply it to the situation at hand.

If there's anything I'll ever say ME2 did better than DA it was DLC. ME2's DLC was fantastic. (with the exception of Shale) I found most of DA's DLC to be really "meh".

Never understood why people get so touchy about words but I'll stop using it if it'll make people more comfortable.

Honesty I did. I was bored and I did it for the lulz.

Though seriously gah...the whole thing really doesn't damper my RPG spirit.

And honestly I always thought DW was a sign of true mastery with weapons. The fact that a rogue can do it but a warrior can't...
Gah. I won't keep going over it I'll just drive mysef to drinking.

I think most of the forum members here that read your posts are already pretty familar with what you'd rather have. And this is kind of a dead horse to beat at this point. It was a trade off. One that you're not fond of, that others are not fond of, that some of us are ok with and that some of us actually really like. There is no good or bad or right or wrong or better or worse. There was an imagery vs interaction design choice and its result is almost entirely subjective. Can we not argue about that for a change?

I didn't. I was honestly thrown off by it and thought he was being rude. Until the differences of regional interpretation were cleared up, anyway.

Well...it was good but when you compare it to LOTSB there's just no comparison.

So if there was anything I wanted the DA team to emulate from the ME2 team it would've been that.

Though maybe if I'm lucky it'll end up being like ME2 where the classes all were distinct and fun to play.

...Even if I stick to playing Infitrator for the slow mo snifer rifle scope.

Well I guess they had the time to make a few extra daggers, since they didn't need to spend any art resources on armor now did they?

Zing!

It's true. All the armor Hawke is wearing was delivered to us by some shady gentlemen with indeterminate accents in return for blueprints to the large hadron collider, and thus required no work.

Well, it does look like Hawke got some sticky fingers with nabbing some Warden armor? Or is this not the Warden crest? Or is Hawke just cosplaying as a Warden?

Frankly, I didn't liked the blue + brown combination, but this blue is so beautiful  And these birds are griffons? They don't look like griffons to me.

Ya... I mean, I feel bad knocking the guy in charge of DLC direction for DAO, but they just were not very well fleshed out dlc for the most part, imo or even well made for the most part. I mean, ya, I can see where the "idea" of the dlc could have been a really cool idea, but almost all of its implementations were very underwhelming, compared to the main game or even just the lore of the game.

Yes they felt very...seperate (except Shale) WK might've fit in a little more if you could've actually done something with it.

Where's ME2s DLC seems to flow naturally. (well unless you complete them after the main mission if you've made a certain decision but...I'll just go ahead and ignore that because hey  doubt they're expected to be finished on a main storyline done playthrough.)
