Rogues who wish to fight in melee (as opposed to archers) equip weapons classified as daggers

Next time I go to Gamestop I am cancelling my preorder.

I said one before and I'll say it again. A rogue who doesn't carry a sword is a retard.

Thank you for saving me some money, asswipe.

Hey, here's a tip, read the rest of his response.

A dagger is a dagger. A sword is a sword. They may be similar but they are not the same. A rogue without a sword is a retard, a rogue with an extra long dagger is either mental incapable of telling the difference or as dumb as zombie either way not a rogue I want to play and I only play rogues save for achievement getting. Since I don't play retarded, mentally incompetant, or dumb as a zombie characters I refuse to play DA2.

Your name makes a lot of sense, now.

And you will remain that way.

Good day, sir. You are a cruel and hateful person.

I mantain that making classes more unique doesn't require pigeonholing them. It is certainly easier, but neither the only way nor the preferable.

What? People from Virginia are notoriously stubborn when it comes to arguing.

What the hell are you talking about?

Are you saying that having clear roles in a game gets away from homogenization?

Yes, otherwise you get it where most classes play/look to similar.

Ah, ok. Sorry: now I get it! And I agree with you.

Should I make a drunk Irish joke now? Because that would be just as biggoted as the garbage you're spewing.

I don't change for anyone, so DUH!

At least I have the common decency not to insult people based on stereotypes of where they live, unlike you.

It would make more sense if, instead of "daggers", they named the slot "light blades". More generic, less restrictive, and less prone to cause confusion (why is this dagger three feet long?)

They are "pigeonholed" because of time restraints.  I am sure there are tons of things they want to do with the classes, but they have to prioritize.  I agree, that having more options would be preferable, but looking at the changes they are making to animations and  ect, I don't think it is practical to expect more, given how much they have changed.

It's cute how you think that just because he's not going to play the game, he'll stop coming here to b*tch about it.

Yeah I wouldn't care if he hadn't brought up his screename.

Such stupidity I noticed often come from people who don't live in the area in question. Most Virgians I know are overly polite and quick to get in your business.

Then why bring up the whole "people from Virgina are notriously stubborn?" Just keep the argument between him and you there was no need to drag a whole state into it.

It's possible that I'm trying to get this thread locked. The question has been answered.

One is primarily for stabbing, one is primarily for cutting, as both are often capable of either the difference is semantic. A bowler is different from a stetson, but they both cover your head.

You realise "rogue" is a fictional concept yeah? There isn't a union of rogues up in arms over the misclassification of weaponry. You don't get to decide what a rogue is or is not in someone elses game.

So aside from not wanting to project "dumbness" on any character you're playing (man, that ones too easy), what effect does this have upon gameplay? You're suggesting that if someone made a mod that changed the name of longer daggers to "sword", the game would suddenly be worth buying?
