Dead Videogame IPs you'd like to see return

Remembering about some games...When I was a kid I really loved the Crash Bandicoot titles, before Naughty Dog abandoned the character. Same with Gex, who was left behind by Crystal Dynamics.
Among many IPs, I really miss Dino Crisis. Capcom really blew it with Dino Crisis 3...but then, they left the franchise to rot and die instead of giving it another shot. They could try, I don't know...maybe to follow the story, instead of doing a ridiculous spin-off in space.
Also, I really liked Brute Force. Digital Anvil is now defunct, but who owns the IP? In my opinion, that title deserved a sequel, which probably will never see the light of day.
Perhaps it's a little too soon to declare Alan Wake dead, but I certainly doubt that we'll see a sequel soon enough. Microsoft made a big mistake trying to compete against Red Dead Redemption. And the marketing was really poor as well.
Can you remember about some other games?

Actraiser. Probably my favorite game on the SNES. It was such a fun game, the sequel was not to good, but a return to it would be great.

Freespace. The second game is one of THE defining games of the space sim genre, and it left us with a ton of unanswered questions regarding the story. If only THQ would get the licence from Interplay and then order Volition to make a new game.
The X-wing/TIE Fighter series. TIE Fighter, X-wing Alliance...need I say more??
Wing Commander. Part fun space sims, part cheesy but fun interactive movies starring the likes of Mark Hamill, Malcolm McDowell and John Rhys Davies. Unfortunately Origin Systems was driven into the ground by EA and so there probably won't be a Wing Commander 6 anytime soon. Origin also had a couple other interesting IPs, like Crusader and Ultima.
Homeworld. Two of the best RTS games ever, courtesy of Relic. THQ, currently owners of Relic, has acquired the Homeworld licence a few years back though, so there's some hope for another game.
I was gonna say XCOM too, until I remember they are doing another one, however un-XCOM like that thing looks.
And yeah, I like space-based games.

System Shock. See avatar and quote in sig. EA did renew the licence a few years back, so maybe there's still a chance for...something to happen.
It would be good yes, but i worry about what they would do with it?

Vampire The Masquerade
Startropics
Wizardry ( I know that the series still pops up every know and then in Japan but I would still like to see a continuation of the proper series started by Sir-Tech)

Yeah, I doubt I'd be comfortable with it being in the hands of anyone other than Ken Levine and Irrational Games, but unfortunately they're part of 2K.Ulous wrote...

Kicking myself for leaving that series out. Last I heard Sierra/vivendi still own the publishing rights for the Homeworld universe.
With the space sims since theres been the a large improvement in the technology I'd think it would be more possible to produce some epic battles. THink the start of Star Wars Episode 3 or the battle at the end of Return of the Jedi.
Not limiting that idea to the Star Wars universe just some easily recognizable examples.

Star Control! Star Control III was CRAP compared. If a new Star Control game is made, it should be a sequel to Star Control II and ignore everything that happened in Star Control III.
Also, I would like to see Ultima X.
Others I would like to see...
Legend of Dragoon 2
Xenogears 2(That's XenoGEARS, NOT that Xenosaga trash)
Another Chrono Trigger game.

Nope, THQ bought the licence in late 2007. And since then there's been nothing but silence about it.addiction21 wrote...

Though Relic has stated that they would definitely like to do a Homeworld 3. Unfortunately practically no-one from the Homeworld days is still at the company these days.

Ahhh...Prototype.
Almost forgot about that one. It's dead, right? I heard that Activision fired a lot of employees who worked at Radical.
