Im glad to see alot of love for space sims in this thread. Seriously, i would run around town butt naked for Freespace 3.

Another ip im hoping that is going to get revived is Mechwarrior.

I think a Freespace 3 game would depend mostly upon the re-introduction of other space sims, if their was a market for it then I think it would happen.

*cough*
Though the lack of news since that first announcement from over a year ago isn't very promising I guess.

And yeah, a Freespace 3 would be great. I wanna know what those blasted Shivans were up to, making Capella go supernova!
At least there's still FS2 Open to keep one busy now and then.

Wow, what a trip down memory lane! :D

If there's a game i would really love to see resurrected this game is Chronomaster. Lots of good memories of that one :)

Image IPB

Of course, another Chronomaster is virtually impossible since Roger Zelazny (the writer) passed away little before the game was finished :crying:

I guess they are referring to the FPS in works what so far has nothing to do with X-Com.

Agreed. Eve online is the only solid space sim at the moment with big community, but there are alot of old school space simmers out there dreaming of the good old days.

I wouldn't mind seeing another Final Fantasy Tactics game but it should be in the style of the original game on the Playstation. I thought Final Fantasy Tactics advance was boring, childish, crap. Huge disappointment considering how good Final Fantasy Tactics was.

FFt technically isn't dead, Square bought the developer that made Ogre Battle then just slapped the Final Fantasy name on future Ogre Battle products, I have seen Ogre Battle re appear in the last year so it is still around.

Actually Morbo THQ has been making small referance to Homeworld 3 is in the works but their not going to say if they are or not at this time.

Mechwarrior Reboot is in the works but it stalled for a little while due to the Owners of Macross issueing a Cease and Disist order one day after the Mechwarrior trailer went out to the public with the Warhammer Battlemech being featured, due to it being part of an old Lawsuit over IP on the design.

As for ones I would love to see back out.

Descent (Series)

Freespace (Series)

Star Fox (Made like the old FX on SNES and 64 version not the junky ones that came out for the cube and GBA)

Double Dragon (Series)

Battletoads

Tribes (Series Like Tribes 1 and 2. 3 was ugly)

Battlezone 2

Planetside (FPSRPGMMO)

Ground Control (Series)

Tachyon: The Fringe

Act of War

RAH-66 Commanche (Series)

Jane's USAF

All that come to mind atm

if by GBA you mean Star Fox Command for the NDS, then I actually liked it. The game itself needed work and some refinement, but the concept was great. A series of isolated battles seperated by turn based flight pathing and branching storylines...I would love to see something similar on the Wii...just done so it's not just the same 3 battles over and over again.

Freespace 3. No other game pains me on any level as the ending of Freespace 2, knowing that there's no 3 coming out. It was absolutely brilliant, and a major suprise. If I were rich...I would purchase this franchise, hire on the original writers and as many of the developers as possible, and then tell them that anyone who approaches me with spoilers will be neutered.

While not technically "dead"...I would like to see another REAL Metroid game...as Other M made me plug my ears and go "LALALALALALALA". I would also like to see a dark mario game. Enough of this family friendly crap...Bowser should be a villain again...it seems like every time he makes an appearance, everyone merely shakes their heads and says "oh Bowser, you rascal"

And *looks at Busomjack's post* yeah I could go with any sorts of a Heretic/Hexen reboot

Most other things have been covered in this thread, foremost Mechwarrior, but if we can't have that what about Shattered STEEL

Me too. Especially given my recent blog post on this very subject calling for Descent and Thief remakes!  (Though the latter is occurring)

I'd echo the calls for Crusader and Syndicate to get redone as well.

It would be hard to imagine a Crusader remake. Considering how odd that game was because it kind of controlled like Resident Evil but it was an action game so oddly enough I imagine a revisit would be in the genre along the lines of RE4, Gears of War or dare I say Mass Effect.

Raymond Feist's "Krondor" games. I really enjoyed the story in Return to Krondor and would have loved to see Sierra continue the series.

Dungeon & Dragon games not under Atari (who have ruined/squandered the license) :D

How have they ruined or squandered it?

They still answer to WotC (Who have arguably done more damage to the IP than Atari) and they've just had a huge court case with Hasbro/WotC meaning they've probably not been able to make any games.

How could I forget... I would Iove it if they brought back the chrono trigger/cross series.
