Also, Messiah 2!  I want another Earthworm Jim game while we're at it!  Bring back Shiny Entertainment!

Oh, totally forgot about Dark Messiah, that was one sweet and original but totally overlooked game! And Xana.....<3:whistle:

Now that you mention it, I really want Shiny back too.

Make Sacrifice 2 now!

Another Freelancer would be nice as well as another Baldurs gate or Icewind dale. Hrmm also add Jade empire and Homeworld to that list as well as Mech commander.

I'd like to see a worthy successor to Thief the Dark Project and Thief The Metal Age. No, Thief Deadly Shadows was junk and had pretty much nothing to do with the Thief series, and yes I know, Eidos Montreal is developing Thi4f or Thief 4, but they're a bunch of screw ups worshipping only two things: money and consoles. Go figure, its going to be super-streamlined super flashy game mainly made for consoles and 14 year olds, thats pretty much the opposite of what T1 & T2 is.
I have no hope for T4.

Pffffft! Thief 3 was great fun. Sure, it was no Thief 1 or 2, but still...great fun.
And with the Cradle it has one of the most atmospheric levels in any game ever, although for pure thief-iness, it can't beat Life of the Party of course. The museum level was also really deliciously fun.

Will have to wait and see how Thief 4 turns out, though calling it Thi4f isn't very promising.

I think space sims in general need to return. Anyone else agree?

Oh god yes! Space sim genre has been slowly dying and i for one would love a comeback.

Incredibully enough there are still couple of dedicated multiplayer servers out there for Freelancer with small community of players supporting them.

Yeah, but unfortunately that doesn't seem likely to happen anytime soon.

At least there's still the odd interesting project going on, like Diaspora, a BSG game using FS2_Open (the open source code version of the Freespace 2 engine).

Bought Sins of a Solar Empire as a gift for a friend (and myself) a while back, he even called in sick one day so we can finish a session :wizard:

Space sims need to return.

better to say Undead .. with remaking as 'special edition' [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/sideways.png[/smilie]

Tales of Monkey Island, released in mid-to-late '09 for the PC with the latest "port" being the PS3 in the middle of this year. Even disregarding the remakes, it's not dead.

How could I miss that one? off course, I was too busy at 2009, so I didn't notice it at all :?

I'm really surprised there hasn't been more Shenmue games, it is a guaranteed success if they do a good job with it.

Problem was they cost so much to make Sega would need to sell two copies to every Dreamcast owner to make their money back. That says more about the amount of Dreamcasts they managed to shift I suppose. But now they seem to have been stung and won't take the risk. As much as I would love another Shenmue game it was one of my favourite games ever, I just don't trust Sega with it anymore. Chances are they would make a right mess of it, plus hasn't Yu Suzuki left Sega now? It was his vision.

1. No One Lives Forever - such a great game(s), too bad Monolith moved to IMHO mediocre FEAR games.

2. Freelancer - best single-player "fly in space and do stuff" game

It seems there is some Freespace love among the Biowarians, seeing the posts in those 5 threads.

I may sound old, but I really liked Crusader no Regret and Wing Commander series too.

But Freespace 2 made an impact to me. I was able to win the campaing in last difficulty level, after going myself berserk and a strong planification. Satisfaction came to the ending.... but the ending left me with lot of uncertainty......

Shame on Interplay :(

btw Descent 4 is NOT dead http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Descent_4

I´m happy for the fans, unfortunately, it is not of my tastes.... we´ll see. It is better than nothing

EDIT: question for Bio staff: Can Interplay re launch Baldur´s Gate without Bioware´s approval?

No, because neither Interplay nor BioWare own the rights to the Dungeons & Dragons games. Atari hold the rights now, so they can rerelease them as they see fit, although I would suspect Wizards of the Coast are always consulted.

I liked the first one (Crash Team Racing), the second one (Tag Team Racing or something like that) wasn't good.
But yeah, Crash is more than dead.

Correct me but I think that thing isn´t that simple, as Baldur´s Gate would be Interplay´s IP. D&D only holds rights of the system of the game :bandit:
