Okaaaay...let's recapYou have the right to have an opinion of your own, but I see some flaws in your logic there. ME2 as an expansion of ME1 ? Watered down ? Because there is no inventory ? Gimme a break.
- You like extremely huge inventories filled with useless upgrades. Check.
- You don't like a variety in squadmates. Check ?
- You somehow decided that the maps in ME1 are bigger than those of ME2 ? Check.
- You liked elevators. Check.
- You didn't like the exclusion of the horrid inventory. Check.
-Quality over quanity. Too many squadmates in ME2= a lot of them where poor quality
-The Cittidal in ME2 was a joke comapred to the one in ME. There might be more hub worlds that are unune but they are small with very little side missions.
-Only thing I agree with you here
-You fix the inventory stystem, don't get rid of it and replace it with no inventory system.
I can pick at your logic too.

Not all planets where bland, a lot of them had good vista's and you didn't need to climb the mountians, only if you wanted to take short cuts. Mako and planet exploration needed work, not cut. Now we have no planet exploration.DarthCaine wrote...

And I'd rather drive around on that planet and take in the view instead of doing a series of tedious mining minigames for planets with cookie-cutter appearances. Maybe there's a compromise somewhere.

I care about writing, something that sucked in ME2. ME2 had good gameplay, that's it. Even then there are faults, overall wirting is what I am concern with and it blowed. It's nice to know that because I like Liara that means I am the evil person! Let alone that my concerns are valid, let alone that my complaints are valid. No no no ME2 is a perfect game. Maybe if I never went back to play ME after ME2 and playing ME a lot, then importing a character into ME2, mybe I would still enjoy ME2, but the more I play ME, the more the flaws become apprent and them ore I see that ME2 was not designed for it's fans, but for the shooter audence who rather have shooty shooty then good writing. If Bioware thought ME2 was soo good then why was LoTSB more on terms of ME writing quality? Think that over.

Um what? Cleary you can only like one character? Why wasn't I told? I never knew I was forced to only like one character. I thought I am aloud to like as many characters as I like. Liara disapointed me a lot in ME2 because she was written so badly, LotSB fixed that, but that came at a cost, the cost was screwing Mirandas character with lol sex chats. Tali? I never said I loved her, you can ask any Tali fan on this site. I don't mind her but I don't love her.DarthCaine wrote...
Kraidy keeps changing his mind every few months. First it's ME2>ME1, then the opposite. First it's Miranda IS THE BEST EVAR, then it's Liara. First it's I hate Tali, then I love Tali.

This is your (current) opinion. But I felt that overall Mass Effect 2 was a better game, especially with the characters since the ones in Mass Effect were pretty flat and one-dimensional in my opinion.
Honestly, the only real complaint I have about Mass Effect 2 is how ineffective biotics are at the higher difficulties.

I only argued with plot holes that wherent in fact plot holes. So because I argue about certain plotholes that means I love the overall plot? Give me a break. Must I also tell you when those dates happen? A long time ago when I was on the ME2 high, way before I went back to ME and got other characters ready for import.Loving Tali? LOL I have people who can easly vouch for me I don't love Tali. Why don;'t you and I go take a vist to the Tali website and you ask them if I love Tali, you will get your answer there.DarthCaine wrote...
I can go digging out old posts from this forums where you argued with me defending ME2's plot holes and it's writing as well as how you loved all LIs including Tali, but I've got better things to do.
Face it, people prefer ME writing. Arguing about somep plotholes does mean I think the plot is good, I will only argue when I see something wrong.
By your logic that means about now I should now go back to loving ME2 and loving a new character? Why hasn't that happen yet? Huh? A lot of people know full well why I am anti ME2 now. You want to know, I will be happy to tell you, I can even write a mini timeline if you want.

I can agree that the main plot was better in ME1, as will most people, but ME1 party members were the worst party members BioWare has ever made. They were all boring as hell.kraidy1117 wrote...

And you wanna talk about writing? Go check out the threads with epic lines and see that most lines people post are from ME2. ME2 had far better writing in dialogue, there was more humor, more epic lines etc.

Fatman on a unicycle? Hardly. The terrain was generic, yes, exploration was tedious, and the bases were all identical in layout... ooh, and there were no trees or shrubs or anything that really gave the planets variety.
This is exactly what we complained about when ME1 released, and what we got was a complete extermination of the entire concept of exploration or vehiclular combat in ME2. We got no driveable vehicles in the main section of ME2, we got linear/no planet exploration... we got much more variety in the planet and base layouts for the sidequests, but the stories were completely stripped down and hardly ever interactive...
What we got in ME1 intrigued us. We wanted to see it improved, but what we got in ME2 was a complete scrapping of said elements and resignation to a safer, more dependable linear format. So, in other words, Bioware took those criticisms we had and opted for a much less ambitious solution than we expected or wanted. Which is why this part of Mass Effect 2 was disappointing to many people.
What would ACII have been like if Ubisoft had just taken out the character progression and sidequests instead of improving them from the first game? How would people have reacted?

I agree pretty much everything what OP said.
Oh I almost forgot! Mass Effect 1 female Shepard had "female animations", unlike it's squel.

I can understand you thinking ME1 was the better game but why would you suddenly not like ME2 after enjoying it before?.
