Saren was a pretty lame villain too. And Benezia hardly did anything.
TIM was a lot more fun to hate than either of those two.
I cant believe it...

To be honest, I liked the faster pace and rougher combat of ME2 better, but I loved the huge, expansive levels of ME1. They're about equal in my eyes, each one with parts that were amazing as well as bits that were absolutely horrid. Seriously, I don't get all the butthurt over "oooh too shooter-like" or "oooh too much tedious RPG stuff." Is branching out from your genre of choice that difficult? Do you want a world where every single game fits perfectly into its respective gameplay slot? Would you rather not see developers try out new things with each new installment? I'm rather happy that Bioware shifted gears for ME2, even if it was a little too far in one direction. They tried to keep it fresh, and after spending even five minutes reading their own forums, they now they know where to go with ME3.
Both Mass Effect games sucked in their own right. In ME1, I wasted too much time pissing around with the Mako and the equipment screen. In ME2, I had hardly any inventory at all and had to deal with planet scanning instead. ME1 had miles and miles of desolate, rocky cliffs. ME2 had shooting gallery after shooting gallery. But, believe it or not, they are my two favorite games, and I've logged more hours on them collectively than I've logged on the original Starcraft, which I've been playing for over a decade.
Oh, and one more thing: LIKING RPGS BETTER THAN SHOOTERS DOES NOT MAKE YOU SMARTER THAN EVERYONE ELSE JESUS CHRIST WHAT IS IT WITH YOU PEOPLE

Hey just a question... what happened to Smudboy? Did he get banned? Because it's been a long while since he posted.
Snotboy's gone. Kalfear's gone. Now there's just one more ...

Say what you want about characters being "shallow" in ME2, but TIM is one of my favorite "bad guys" ever. I can't bring myself to hate him or trust him.

I'm pretty sure there's a thread somewhere in the spoiler forum where one can go at length about their disappointment with ME2.
