I would prefer a nug eating contest feature. That's much more likely, anyway.

EDIT: You know what, **** that: NUG BREEDING! We can raise them like Pokemans to see who can make the most delicious bunnypig! Get to work, BioWare. I'll forgive the delay.

...  ... :o

That has to be one of the best suggestions I've heard in ages

Oh, and no to the on-line thing, I have nothing against on-line RPGs, but there needs to be a balance of on-line and off-line games imo

Also a lot of  game developers seem to concentrate too much on the online elements to the detriment of the single player experience.  I guess they try to be all things to all people and then loose focus on what they are actually doing

DA:O on the other hand is just concentrating on being a damm good single player experience with all efforts just focusing on doing that.  Bravo Bioware.

Only if, as part of the online feature, they finally develop a much needed internet feature, the ability to punch someone in the face over the internet.

I only want an online feature if it's based on one of JEBesh's ideas

Nope. Especially since this is Bioware's starting point game in the Dragon Age universe. It's nice that they're letting people get used to their new world/lore before they expand into multiplayer. It would be annoying to play with even some of my friends who didn't know the lore that well...T__T "Uh, what's a Templar? And who's this Maker people keep going on about..." *falls over*

That problem won't go away just because multiplayer gets available. On the contrary, the longer it takes for a multiplayer thingy to be launched, the bigger the difference in lore-knowlege will be between us that's been playing in the DA:O universe from day 1 and those that join just to play multiplayer...
So lets hope that day never comes. Unfortunatly, I believe it's inevitable, just like the sun will eventually grow and swallow the planets nearest to it (including earth). Luckily that won't happen yet in a few thousand years and if DA:O multiplayer has the same timeline I think I can live with it Posted Image

No, don't want that. In all honesty, after playing WoW, AoC, LotRO, WAR and Aion, I'm really looking forward to being able to play alone, to enjoy the story, to immerse myself ... and not worry about stupid names and comments by other player.

Seeing how the game is portrayed to the mass audence, are you all that surprised that this does come up at all? Its just another evolution in gaming that online aspects are a must for the industry. Everything is going online and requiring a social aspect of sorts built in. Teh futar iz 'ere!

I'm particularly not fond of that multiplayer madness. I think that almost every game is multiplayer-oriented, somewhat an IRC with graphic where story is pushed away in favour of cooperative killing of huge monsters, equipment-hoarding and character-maxing.

On the other hand, I really like the idea of sharing everyone's creation of quests. That multiplayer element I don't mind.

I think that at least one RPG should stay free of that Massive-Multiplayer-disease.

Personally I think it wont die because of all the METAGAMERS out there from WOW, EQ and the like. Seems to me they are more concerned with buffs and max-builds than an intriguing game with a good storyline.

The day I saw my friend blocking attacks from chickens in a barnyard was it for me...He said he was trying to improve his parrying ability so he had been sitting their just blocking chickens...........just another reason why the MMO groups are not for me. Hope DA:O never goes there.

Its worst in oblivion. In it, If you want to max your char, you must put your most used skills as minor skills. This way, you can block chicken while impoving without leveling. The goal is to clearly plan your leveling span so that you boost major skill only to level while always making sure you had +5 to your stats when you do.

Seriously, go read Oblivion leveling advices, it's ridiculous how flawed Oblivion is.

Now i agree with u that social interaction is a major thing in alot of games. My personal problem is that ppl assume because this is an RPG that it must be an online games due to the MASSIVE amount of MMOs on the market. I like keeping my gameplay and socializing with certain games seperate because when someone is talking u are naturally gonna pay attention which takes u away from something important that might happen. Multiplayer is built for games Like WoW because there is no in depth story involved. You are thrown into a massive world with a basic storyline and thats ok if you're  into that. Dragonage is bringing back the massive story plot from the days of BG1 and 2 where you become so wrapped up in it that you literally lose track of time. I dont want to be playing and suddenly a little window pops up with a chat log or one of my friends wants to play to. Not to mention there are the spammers who get on to purely annoy players or attack new players to where they dont want to play.

im glad dragonage is purely singleplayer....i miss games like this

Player made NWN style Modular Online connectivity? Perhaps.

I do not want it in the single player box. I am all for modders making campaigns that allow people to log on with each other because that is not made on the developer's time.

:) We don't need WoW or EQ or Fable 2 with this game.

For me, playing MMORPG is like a few people reading the same book, and I dont' mean the same title but the same copy of it. They can compete who read the page faster, they can chat do death while trying to read, they can rip it to pieces and then share their part with each other, they can do a lot of things. But plunging into the story, imagining and feeling the world like they were in it, live with the characters like they were real people ... simply transferring one's self into the world of dream ... that thing they could not do.

I think you guys associate online play with random matchmaking.

I would love to play this game online but i would only play with people I know not random people like i do for shooters.

My wife is so dissapointed that we can't play this game together like we did NWN and GW.
