That's 'cause most Americans say it like "a bat", which we find equally hilarious, btw.

I dunno about 'a bat' - I say it like 'ab out'. You know, the normal way.

Oh, the normal way. Like Canadians. I've never heard anybody other than a drunk Scotsman say "aboot" (it was one of the few things he said that I could understand), but I've heard plenty of Americans say "abat," including a fellow who insisted his name was Scat. Took me a while to figure out he meant "Scott" .... <_<

Supposedly we talk with a "Canadian raising", which I suppose we might. But to me it's nothing close to saying aboot. In "lout" and "loud" I'm pretty sure I pronounce the vowels somewhat differently (sounds slightly shorter to me), but it's still "lout" and not "loot".

In any event, if you tried to blend in by saying "aboot" I think we'd find it just as hilarious.

Bioware is a Canadian based company. Simple as that. I was just hoping I was sending my authentication codes to the right web address, but everything works, eh?

So wait - Stanley Woo is a BioWare representative? What wonderful customer facing skills you have! Perhaps you should take some classes on how to represent a company in a professional manner.

This is a horrible representation of BioWare if you ARE an employee.

Wow, if he's a ****, he just might ban you for that.

Congratulations on being the top moron in a moronic thread.

How does discusssing the (idiotic) topic at hand in any way make him a bad representative?  Should he not explain why the company chose that flag?  Should he not have national pride?  he didn;t say anything insulting or rude, he related personal experiences.

If you want to see a bioware employee that needs lessons in customer service direct your attentions to Priestly, but don't get all bent out of shape because an employee took the time to answer a retarded question in an open and truthful manner.

It's a very little used Canadian-ism.  Mostly just for comic effect, these days(around here, at least).

I'm a 33 year old canadian and have never heard anyone say 'hosers' unless the we quoting Bob & Dou or they were making fun of what Americans think people in Canada say.

Either the h,w,i,n, and g keys weren't working when I tried to type showing (not likely) or I was already thinking of something else when I typed that.  No matter what, I should have proofread my post and I apologize for my mistake.

Wait? We have 2 national anthems? Wrong we have 1 anthem in two languages... And it was written by a francophone at that..

Lawlz.

Honestly I'd be insulted if Bioware had used the US/UK flag considering their are based in Canada. We have so very little in terms of credible gaming companies let's be proud.

edit: I take that back I don't I know if I would have noticed it if they had used the US or UK flags to indicate the English language because I am so used to seeing it everywhere, and that in itself is a little sad. However I was VERY pleasantly surprised to see the Canadian flag, way to go and please stay in Canada!!

Yeah, I've pretty much only ever heard it s some form of comic effect.

Rare occasion that I hear it seriously, I kinda have to give whoever it is one of those "did you seriously jsut say that?" looks.

The flag has to do with the country and not the language. What is even your point in starting this thread?
