Hi, i recently purchased dragon age origins  via the ea site.(downloaded from site to) I bought the pack that included dragon age origins and awakening as well as all the bonus content. I noticed that the loading would get long and  longer the more i played at one single time. Eventually getting up to 5 minutes. I eventually looked online for patches hoping that it would fix the problem. So i download patch 1.04. After downloading the patch and trying to play the game, it asks me....

Please sign in with your ea account to verify your game.

I thought this was strange seeing as i already did this. So i entered my ea login information and then got this error message

"Were sorry, there is a problem with your game setup, please reinstall your game"

Ive read everywhere that bioware is inept at patching(every patch has produced more problems then fixed) and i curse myself for not looking into what i was downloading. This is extremely aggravating because im pretty far into the game and have developed a nice char. I do not want to reinstall the game and lose all of that. Can somebody help?

Here are my pc specs if that helps

AMD Athlon II Quad Core Processor
ATI Radeon 4500 graphics card
4 GB of RAM
Windows 7 64 bit

I just wrote a thread on this. I don't blame BioWare. They've managed to do a fine job with patching Baldur's Gate, Knights of the Old Republic, Neverwinter Nights.

What's missing from those 3 classics? Their technical partners - EA. Lucas does a fine job. Atari did a fine job. Black Isle did great.

IMO you should direct your complaints at EA.

I dont need to direct my problems to ea. Ea was not the one that made the patch that caused this problem. The game played fine when i first downloaded it. Now because got sicks of waiting 5 minutes for the game to load an area and decided to download patch, i am out of 50 dollars.

That's all you need to do. During the uninstall, it gives you the option to Save your Settings and Save your Saved Games. I chose both esp. since I knew I was reinstalling it again right afterward. Haven't had a problem yet. If you're that worried, they should be saved in your My Documents folder under Bioware/Dragon Age/Characters. Back that folder up.

My two cents about Bioware causing you grief. Bioware rocks, always has always will. EA is all about the money not the gamer.

Really?  You're sure about that?

I was supporting you.  But you go with your self-righteous rage!  Tell me how it is in your world!

I'll calmly go with BioWare's history of quality work and my connections in the gaming industry (companies who bid the job and  warned BioWare not to go with EA).

And as I stated on my other thread - I'm done with you.

You need to contact EA technical support. Since Bioware happens to be owned by EA.
