I've not played all the recent games - don't have the cash but Bioware games totally blow me away - love them. Better than FO and ES for sure, but that's just my opinion.

It's at this point that I need to start backing away slowly from the conversation. Do you also think that people that think racism is okay are not actually racist?
You don't need to be aware that you made an ism to be partaking in one. I'm sure you've made countless off-the-cuff jokes, but you don't consider yourself racist/sexist/etc.
I mean, you're honestly trying to say that it's not sexism because both sides are generalized?

Starter Amell supports late-term abortion. First she stabbed mommy, and she's coming for the kid.
Okay, this is officially so off-topic.

Where is the endless praise for creating arguably the best game franchise in history? Maybe one of the best franchises in any form of entertainment?
Yes, Mass Effect 1 & 2 have its flaws, such as blantant sexism. But maybe this is one of the reasons its considered a piece of social commentary. Whether there's intention real-life issues presented (for sexism, see Harkin in ME1), or whether its reflecting where we as a people are at in society. Big, blue, lesbian, MILF alien boobies sell-thats where we're at.

As for the "Mass Effect is sexist," I call BS. If it WERE sexist, FemShep would be too busy makin' sammiches for Kaidan and Jacob to save the galaxy, and would need some handsome man to come to her rescue every five minutes. As it is, she's the strongest and least sexualized female hero I've ever seen in a videogame. Aside from romances, the occasional wardrobe tweak, and a few snips of dialog, there is no difference between MShep and FShep. So the guy on all the posters is male, so what? You think they'd face scan a Dutch supermodel and never bother showing it?
And again, if you feel the game objectifies the female form, please see Thane and Jacob. Not as blatant and all-over-the-place (all power and glory to the almighty booby squad), but it's there. Besides, it's definitely not as bad as, say, Soul Caliber. Relatively speaking, Mass Effect is a huge step in the right direction. ME2 backtracked a little, yes, but hopefully ME3 will correct that.
Anyway, that's my two cents. BTW, I'm female.

imho, sexism just like racism, are terms used too easily, since people don't fully understand their severity. Sure, you can claim that ME2 is discriminatory, but sexist ? Nah.
Actually, the opposite is true. People think that isms are only to be used in situations where utterly horrible people are involved. I think it's extremely ironic that you are talking about the severity of sexism, and then you make a sexist joke, no matter how tame.
And what do you think it is discriminatory against, if not gender? Sexism is discrimination.

Sexism, a term coined in the mid-20th century, is the belief or attitude that one gender or sex is inferior to, less competent, or less valuable than the other.
You support that ME2 is sexist towards both genders. If so, a logical error would occur, leading to a singularity and the possible creation of a black hole that will eat us all.

Nice try, that's really not the full definition for every single situation. Sexism doesn't have to be about thinking you are better than the other gender. ME2's sexism is in it's camera angles, oggling the breasts and the butt, and how easy Jacob is.
If you want to have this conversation, you will need to bring to the table a little more than a parroted dictionary definition and a rudimentary idea of the concept in question. You need to use your own head for abstract concepts.
There is no difference between discrimination and sexism, because sexism is discrimination. Racism is discrimination. Colorism (a form of racism) is discrimination. Nationalism is discrimination. Homophobia is discrimination. Hetrophobia is discrimination. "Religion Phobia" is descrimination. "Anti-Religion Phobia" is, as well. There is no point in which discrimination becomes "something else". So to say the ME2 is "discriminatory, but not sexist" makes no sense at all, and it betrays an extremely naive understanding of the concept.
One last time: discrimination does not need to be excessive or even done with bad intent to be discrimination. Hell, it doesn't even require you to be a bad person. And just because it's a joke? Doesn't make it any less sexism, racism, etc.
People seem to think that I and others are calling BioWare sexist pigs or something.
But this is just going in circles now. I leave you to your thread.
