ME2 isnt sexist! Humans are sexual beings and this is portrayed. No sex gets an advantage over the other. We see women in positions of power in the ME universe as many times as men. Stop looking for flaws that aren't there.

Almighty Wiki:
Sexism, a term coined in the mid-20th century, is the belief or attitude that one gender or sex is inferior to, less competent, or less valuable than the other. It can also refer to hatred of, or prejudice towards, either sex as a whole (see misogyny and misandry), or the application of stereotypes of masculinity in relation to men, or of femininity in relation to women.

Bryy, I think that you are mistaking stereotyping with sexism.

Words that end with -ism have to do with a concept that is over another concept. Stereotyping is like 'ya we need a hawt female squadmate, let's add boobs and ass lawl'.

Though I don't even agree that there is stereotyping in ME2 or 1.

Just look at that quote from wiki. It can be the same thing.

That reminds me of Miranda...and Samara...and Jack. :P

Well I just hope that there will be less of this lame sexism fanservice in ME 3. I dont like it. It wasnt necessary in first ME.

I disagree Babli, I think that sexist stereotypes are 'Women should be in kitchen, make me a sammitch" whereas the kind of stereotypes ME has is as I said 'lol male/female squadmates should be stupid and full of muscles'

Miranda/Samara/Jack/Ashley etc, have personality and smarts, they are not there to...umm, you know.

We´ll just have to agree to disagree then, because this looks just like another endless debate ;)

The funny thing here is, you are the one actually stereotyping. Just because Samara goes around flaunting her ****** doesn't mean she is some easy piece of blueberry pie.

The funny thing is, that I never wrote something like that. It was just about looks. Compare looks of squadmate of first and second ME and you get my point. As characters they are all very good written...except Jacob.

What do looks have to do with anything? The stereotyping comes into playing only when YOU assume something about someone, something not directly related to the looks.

The problem is, you don't seem to understand what applying a stereotype actually means.

Then lets call it fanservice. There is a lot of it in ME 2. And it´s not necessary.

I'm sorry, but why is fanservice such a bad thing ? They do want to please the fans, don't they ? And I don't think that there's excessive fanservice in ME2.

Well then they should work on better plot and RPG elements instead of fanservice if they wanted to please the fans. But that is all matter of opinion, so lets leave it like that.

I don't know how many times I've said that you don't need to have ill intent to make a sexist joke or design sexist imagery. Right now I'm under the distinct impression that you are just trying to pick an eFight.

Well, I was hoping that Phaedon's "back to the original topic" would be enough to get people back to the original topic, but once again, my hopes are crushed.
