Now that DA:O is concluded, will we be able to play our warden ever again? Will we hear about our warden's future activities in DA2 while we play Hawke or is warden's chapter completely over?

At present, I only care about Hawke. We'll talk about this when I finish DA2.

Given that my Warden is dead, I hope so. It was annoying enough that I would have to retcon my Warden's death if I wanted to import my choices into Awakenings, but having to do so for a full sequel would really annoy me.

There's a podcast in one of the stickies (the David Gaider one I believe) goes into this a bit.

Alright. It's just that despite playing many Bioware games, I've never been as attached to any character as I was to my wardens. Hopefully Hawke will come close.

I would say yes. We should hear about him/her though in DA2, either through a codex on grey wardens, or through NPC banter or something. DA3 will probably introduce another character, most likely fully voiced as well and I wouldn't be surprised if that character is only one race as well. Or does Hawke's story continue? I did hear how the DA series was meant to be about tons of different people and their stories in a podcast.

Bought awakening a while back and havnt got round to playing it yet, can you not import your choices and start a new warden from Orlais? if not that sucks big time and someone needs to make a mod :?

oh sorry btw bit off topic

I think the general vibe is that they'd love to fully explore the consequences of your actions from previous games, it's just not practical for them to do so, and so they pick and choose, doing what they can in order to preserve a sense of continuity.

No. The Orlais warden comes with its own preset history that will not reflect the decisions your dead warden made.

I'm sorry I didn't quite understand that. Is the Warden's story what? Over.

I sure hope so, since my preferred ending in Origins was the dead warden.

awwww i feel so cheated :( , ah well.

On topic, i wouldnt mind if the wardens storys over, defeating the archdemon is enough for one persons life, let him/her retire in peace:)

I understand this. I found myself marvelling that the NPCs all treated my female dwarf like a dwarf, and a female. They refered to me as SHE and HER. I was so pleasantly surprised.  Recording dialogue for every race and gender must have taken a ton of effort. The outcome, however, was just amazing. Imagine adding decisions I made on top of that. I wouldn't be surprised though if the reason our warden was benched was because the extra race dialogue took too much effort when most people seem to prefer playing humans.

i think that in dragon age 3 bioware will return to the roots....in my opinion they will introduce origins story AGAIN....in my opinion dragon age 2, despite being a personal story of Hawke, will have depper meaning when it comes to the story, because if you remember the ending of Witch Hunt, and what Morrigan told you, then you should know that this EPIC MEDIEVAL EVIL crap isnt over.

I sure hope not seeing as my Warden is perfectly alive and well, chilling with Morrigan and Old God Baby in Mirror World.

Seriously, you bring back Morrigan in the future and write the Wardens off thats a Viconia level kick in the balls. If they want the "no canon" approach to mean anything they've got to account for this in a meaningful way whenever Morrigan comes back into the picture.

Cause if the series just devolves into a NWN style scenario where each story is just a new PC with little connection to the past while leaving massive cliffhangers and unresolved plots that only start at the end of the game (DR), that will get old really quick.

You're a progressive sort.

@ Brockololly.  What If they switched gears again in DA3, and got rid of Hawke? I dunno, I might be okay with it since the series is officially schizophrenic now.

Relying on the setting rather than key players just might work.

i dont think that will happen......dragon age same as mass will have a trilogy story....i dont mean that dragon age 3 will be the last, but it will provide some closure in my opinion, and  the game will provide some answers at your warden.

Maybe Morrigan will only come back as a wizened old woman mentor to the godbaby and the Warden will be long dead.

I'm fairly certain Gaider implied that the Warden's story isn't over yet in one of these threads.

It would all depend on when DA3 takes place, and knowing what we know now- that the world is on the brink of war and the Chantry is on the verge of collapse with Morrigan hinting at some big "change" and telling the Warden to tell the others and have all Wardens on the watch, it makes me think that there wouldn't be some massive time jump between DA2 and DA3.

What I'd love to see would be if the Warden returned as the PC along with Hawke as PC. So break it up in chapters or something such that you can play as both Hawke and the Warden.
