Why not just play a single person RPG then? Or are you trolling for the sake of it at this point?

If someone says they want unique companions who have personality, desires, and actions separate from the PC, I don't understand the logic of suggesting a game with no companions whatsoever.

It's a bit like someone expressing a desire for chicken friend steak and you asking them why they don't go to the salad bar down the street.

Well, if I suggested that, it would be because I don't want to made into a steak.

Who cares what its called? that's what he wants and prefers.

It hasnt been fortold sicne the dawn of time that all future dragon age games must be party based games, based on your definition of what a party based game is.

Personally, I like controlling my party members and giving them orders so I'd prefer that not change. But i think saying something like, DA2,3,4,5 cant do this because thats not what DA series is about is pretty silly

I didn't say it didn't matter what it was called or said anything about his preferences. Just my preference.

yes....yes you are but it's ok

What? I said his preferences didn't matter but calling it a party based game when it clearly not was bs.

Not to mention boring. Hawke falls so you sit there watching the game play itself.

Well, if you built your character so that he could come up with some in-depth tactics that covered a variety of scenarios, it'd be kinda interesting - at least to me - to see how it works out without your help.  If you made your character into a Fantasy Kobe Bryant with a Sword (as per the example in my original post) then guess what, your party is probably boned without you.

That being said, I never claimed it was gonna be anyone's ideal game other than my own.

Oh I know you didn't. I'm just remembering al the times the PC died because of MItsuru casting Tentrafoo. <_<

At least his death resulting in a instant game over made sense. When Shep's companions fall they automatically get right back up yet Shep somehow dies from the same wounds.

You obviously haven't read his previous posts on the subject. He's argued for zero control over companions at all. Or total control where you control their speech if the game involves the player being allowed to change their equipment.

I'm sorry if I don't buy into your little "clothing makes the companions entire personality" speil. Clothing is just that, clothes. I certainly don't wear the same thing every day and it doesn't make me a different person just because I'm not wearing the same thing. The idea of that is so silly to begin with.

Just because Origins allowed you to change companion gear, it didn't give Morrigan or Oghren any less of their own personality via dialog, input in the quests, and the world around them. Saying other wise is delusional.

I know of an industry that will put characters in the same outfits over and over again.

Cartoons.  Aimed at children.  As to not confuse the young ones as to who is who.

Im pretty sure their distinctive clothes will change, at least a bit, during the time skip.  At least i hope so.  Having all my buddies wearing the exact same clothes that they did 10 years ago would be quite odd

No they won't. That was the "exception" rather than the rule (leading me to believe it might just be limited to probably Bethany and Carver.  I don't want another Miranda and Jacob in combat. Sure they're great characters but that clothing was ridculous.

Eh, Ill hold out hope until we have a definite answer.  I mean, with all of their changes to help increase story immersion (yes, yes, you may not agree with them, but that is what they are going for) not changing up characters 'distinct look' after the time skips would definitely be counterproductive to that, at least to me.  I dont want no 40 year-old Isabelle rockin those boots! (she's like 28 or something at the start, right?)

Imagine if we lose a crapload of companions to death? How cool would that be? That would definitely be changing up the mold.

Disfigurements, cant go wrong with disfigurements either.  Be interesting to see how losing an eye, arm or leg would change up combat!

*stares* You play ME2 go on Tali's loyalty mission and take Jack or Samara with you. More immersive my ass. That jarred me so hard out of the game I practically had whiplash.  It was fanservice plain and simple. Trashy preteen fanservice at that.

Though Jack's outfit at least made sense with her character. Doesn't make any more sense that the Quarians would allow her to pollute their ship instead of putting her in a hardsuit or telling Shep to pick someone else.
I doubt it. They're clothing is supposedly going to stay mostly the same. "It's there "iconic" look after all. Maybe I'll get lucky and Isabela will put on some damn pants. Or we might get lucky and it'll be like ME2 with reskins. (Like Garrus' painted over busted armor. <_< )

Excuse me for not jumping for joy when I saw how retarded this was in ME2. Now if they wore their outfits in non-combat areas (even if combat happened in Kirkwall I'd be fine with them wearing normal clothes) but if they go into evil forest filled with monsters with clothes on I'm going to facepalm. I had no problem with the clothes on the ship. But the second we went into a place we knew there was hostiles and they don't place any armor on (I can sort of forgive Jack for this) I just sighed.

How hilarious that the vamp in the game is the one who covers up the most other than the girl in a vaccum sealed bodysuit (in Shep's crew anyways).

Hey, don't get mad just cause you don't get fashion! Cool/sexy/superawesomebadass will trump your petty grievances! Who cares about immersion? I want identifiable characters, only, followed by high amounts of badasserrry.

Well isn't that what you folks constantly proclaim? Course ME2 didn't exhibit that at all plot wise, but apparently its so hard to relate to companions who aren't wearing the same damn thing the entire game. Their whole personality is based on it!

That's literally true in two cases.
