From those I've played:

ME2 >> Alpha Protocol > Fallout: New Vegas >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Two Worlds 2 > Gothic 4

*I've only played demos of Two Worlds 2 and Gothic 4

I played most of them (PC versions).

Mass Effect 2 - best by far
Alpha Protocol - great idea, ruined by ****ty camera and controls
Divinity 2: TDKS - even better than original D2
Fallout NV - meh, I expected much more
Drakensang: TRoT - nice visuals and audio, but kinda boring gameplay for me
Gothic 4 Arcania - WTF did they do to my beloved Gothic series :crying: (though still better than PoS that is Gothic 3)

1) Fallout New Vegas (While not a 'new' game but a large expansion, it offered a full RPG experience, less the story)
2) Mass Effect 2 (The NPCs and thier stories/interactions were exceptional, but the stripped down inventory and lack of customization keeps it at #2 on my list)
3) Final Fantasy XIII (Say what you will, but I rather enjoyed the game......once able to do 'side-quest')
4) Alpha Protocol (I had high hopes, but the funny at times AI and bland NPCs had me cringing throughout my playthrough)

I have seen sport games with more RPG elements than ME2 but oh well. Of the list, the best is ME2, sure. RPG wise, I have no idea. I guess New Vegas...

Don't think the results will be very exciting given what forum we're on, but... Of the ones I played...

1) Fallout New Vegas - This wins easily. While still suffering from some carry-overs from Fallout 3, and stretching things a bit setting-wise, it's a real pleasant comeback of more player freedom akin to the earlier Fallouts and Arcanum. Best RPG in a long time.

2) Alpha Protocol - Perhaps the most interesting game of the bunch. Definitely feels like the developers kinda lost sight just what they wanted to accomplish somewhere along the long of development. But again, great freedom within the confines of such a story-based game, and absolutely fantastic characters.

3) Mass Effect 2 - A very pleasant upgrade in terms of the NPCs first and foremost. Much more interesting than what we saw in ME1. The locations are superb in terms of visuals. On the other hand, the plot makes no sense whatsoever and I was not a fan of how much they simply stripped down mechanics for a more shooter-ish experience rather than to tweak the existing ones for a better experience.

4) Arcania - Absolutely horrendous game and a very poor entry in the Gothic series.

1. Mass Effect 2
2. Fallout: New Vegas
3. Divinity II: Dragon Knight Saga

The rest are a waste of my time, minus Drakensang: River of Time.  I doubt it will see a North American release.

How the expansion for Divinity 2?

I got frustrated with the main game.

Drakensang: River of Time is the only classic RPG in the list, hence gets my vote.

It was the best game I've played this year, before I got my hands on the Dragon Knight Saga.

What do you mean by frustrated?  I haven't reached the expansion yet.  Replaying from the very beginning.  The biggest thing I noticed right away was the graphics are a lot nicer and better optimized.  The camera has a tighter focus on the character too.

I loved the first half, but I didn't like the transition into the whole dragon thing. And there was no real system to melee combat, just hack away and hope your hitpoints don't drain before the enemies die.

Yeah, the combat is still the same but it's overall difficulty is less frustrating this time.  I've blitzed through the starting area and already have powerful items.  Which makes me happy.  Well, some people will find the easier difficulty a turnoff.

The beginning was deliberately made easier but overall the game's harder since enemies way below your level will still do full damage to you, while in the previous game they would do zero damage. So even though you can find very powerful weapons, any mob can kill you pretty fast.

The number of ranged enemies has also greatly increased, hence one must actively dodge & flip around to survive. Playing as a pure melee character will be very frustrating, until one has maxed out life leech & regenerate. For a mage or archer, though, it's still as easy as the first game.

In what difficulty? In the original D2, Hard became almost impossible to me after the first dragon flight, but normal was pretty easy all around.

It depends. You are NA? No. You're European? Hell yeah! (sweet revenge :wizard:)

The demo is out however, you can try it.
Also, yeah, the name is a bit strange-ish. They could have called (cold is cooler, but called is correct) it "Second Two Worlds" or "Three Worlds" or... err, "Two worlds, chapter two" or "Two Worlds : My name is Gandohar, you are not Gandohar, only I am Gandohar"

Not just a week or two before. A MONTH or TWO before.
Still, reason is : Reality Pump are Polish. And as any good European developer, they delay the release in NA. Simple enough :wizard:

It's much better than the first one. It appears it actually has a story, which is good. Still, I just played it for an hour or so, so I can't be sure. The sequences are brilliant (as opposed to the first one, where there were none at all).

Fallout New Vegas by far... Before that my vote would be on ME2 but New Vegas easily trumps it.
