First and foremost, I'm not big techie, so please bear with me. The issue isn't with the game per se, it has more to do with my setup and whether or not I should upgrade. I'm running Vista Home Premium Edition, AMD Anthon 4850e Dual Core Processor, I have 3gb of ram and am running a Geforce 9400 video card. Running the game on both the lowest and highest settings yield no major differences, I still seem to get horrible frame rates at random points in the game (where I am or what I'm doing in the game doesn't seem to make a difference). Frame rates seem to fluctuate every 5-10 minutes from bearable to atrocious. I'm aware it has something to do with my video card or processor, any feedback on what i should do would be much appreciated, Thanks =]

From what you say, if it's every 5 or 10 minute no matter what you are doing in the game, may be you have some other program running that take some ressources.

When, it's happening you should go back quicly on windows and check if another task is not draining too much cpu power.

Do you know how many mega hertz is the frenquence of your processor ?

I usually close all unnecessary programs while running the game (or any game for that matter). My processor runs at 2.50 Gigahertz, is that what you meant?

The Geforce 9400 is below the system requirements. I had a 8500 GT, which is pretty much the same, a while back and could run ME1 at 20 frames per second. Upgrading to a 9600 GT (and better power supply to support it) increased performances dramatically.
