Hi,
I've been trying to figure out how to download and unzip files..especially dazip files so i can play them. Can someone please tell me.
I downloaded the toolset, no installation problems, until i ran it. Now it tells me I don't have a database. Is there a way to correct this?
Thanks in advance.

You just want to play the game? If so, you don't need the toolset at all - that's just for making mods. You don't need to open dazip files either, even though they are in fact just ordinary zip files. But if you do want to take those files apart, you can get by without launching the full toolset: look at the exe files in Program Files/Dragon Age/tools. Rename .dazip to .zip as it's really just a normal zip file. You'd still probably want to get the database problem solved of course, if you're trying to use the toolset further.
Just in case having trouble installing mods is the real problem: mods come in two flavours basically - dazip files and override files.
1)
* If it's a dazip file, then *normally* you can double click on it to get the updater program to open. But if you have an older game version, or the file association is missing, then you'll have to open the updater yourself. Check C:/Program Files/Dragon Age/bin_ship/daupdater.exe (or C:/Program Files (x86)/...)
* Note that dazip files can say they're for a certain patch level of the game. So if you have an older game version, the mod might not load until you update. You can check in the main menu's DLC page for any mods you installed through dazip files.
* If DAUpdater is giving you other problems, you could check out two other mod managers:
DAModder
DAO-Modmanager
2)
If it's not a dazip, it probably goes into your override. Open up "(My) Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/packages/core/override" and try putting the files in there or wherever the mod's install instructions tell you. The mod could come in a .zip, .rar, or even .7z file which you'll need to extract. The free 7-zip program should be able to handle most of whatever's thrown your way.
