Need an experienced opinon on which to use blender or gmax. I plan on making landscapes, weapons, armour, new monsters and hopfully some animation.
Thanks in advance sorry for the double post.

You don't necessarily need to use either to actually model, just to export game meshes. If you are asking though I presume you have no modelling experience? If that's the case then your list is very ambitious.
If you are looking for a complete package to do everything, I'd suggest Blender is probably the more rounded of the two, although from a DA perspective its export script is perhaps slightly inferior. GMax is useful from the standpoint that it is a crippled version of 3DS Max 4 and most of the tools and workflow conventions still apply in the current versions of Max, making it a handy training tool if you plan on professional work in the future.

Thanks for the information. I know its very ambitious for starting out but im in no rush and i am highly motivated for the project i have in mind. It may end up that what i want to wont be possible exactly as i have it in my head but as i gain more knowledge and experience i can adjust my plans.
