I bought the Deluxe Edition from Gametree and can't get into the game. I copied and pasted the Activation Key from their email but it tells me that the Activation Key is not found in their database.
I'm in the US and have a MacPro. I was able to use the same activation key to log in here, interestingly.
I've sent an email to both EA and Gametree, naturally, but I'm hoping that there is just something simple I've overlooked. This has been rather frustrating. Certainly NOT the STEAM or Blizzard experience.
Activation Key Not Found?

Hi, I purchased the game from Direct2Drive last sunday and am having the exact same problem. I've contacted both Direct2Drive and EA support and both seem completely clueless. DId you resolve this? Has anyone else resolved this before? I'm losing it.

I can only point anyone with activation issues to the official EA support page, they really ought to help you, especially as you already successfully registered your game on this website.
Maybe clean re-install might help, but I cannot guarantee anything:
While connected to the internet, run the Dragon Age launcher and de-authorize your game. After that manually delete ALL of the following folders: /Applications/Dragon Age, ~/Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age, ~/Library/Preferences/Dragon Age Origins Preferences and ~/Library/Preferences/Cider Preferences. Now re-install the game and all your DLCs.

I would talk to support people at both companies.
One problem may be that if the server you download and purchase your copy from is not in the same nation and/or geographic region then some things don't get activated as they should.
This is an error that relates to how the game is distributed and the fact that someone may not have realized or factored in that on the internet someone may honestly buy a game from an authorized seller who happens to be based in/on a different nation/continent.

I'm having the same issue, game won't activate. Says the activation code is not in the database. I called EA, they gave me two new activation codes, they don't work either. They suggest there is a problem with the server right now, but gave me no other assistance or timeline. If I can't get this to work I'll have to get my money back.

Hate to do a "me too" post, but has anyone found out if the problem is indeed on their servers, or what the fix is, or an ETA?
To be clear code worked to install, but not to play. :-(

Sometimes the EA servers are indeed offline or unreachable, EA usually posts a notice in the FAQ section of their support website. If there is no ETA there, maybe ask tech support directly.

Where on the support site are notices posted?? I am not finding anything that even looks like where I should be looking to see if their activation servers are down. Three days, still can't play :-(

On the right of the EA support site there are "Popular Help Topics", these should list any recent issues. You can also use the search function, for example "Dragon Age" or "server".
There do not seem to be any current server problems at the moment, however I found this and this. While they do not mention DA specifically, it might be worth double-checking your parental controls, firewall, any security software you have installed, and to make sure you run on an administrator account. Also, have you tried a complete, clean re-install as I suggested earlier in this topic?
If all of these do not help, I am out of my wits, sorry. You will have to continue to contact EA support in that case. If they claim that there are server problems, insist and inquire as to how and when they will be solved. Maybe ask to speak to a superior, tech support usually has levels, with the more knowledgable people further up the line. But always be civil, the poor tech support guys are not responsible for EA's mistakes after all.

My activation code works now as well. GameTree Mac finally responded to my customer service request with an "it should work now" email, and it did. No explanation as to what went wrong or how anybody fixed it.
SecurROM had earlier responded to my request with "we are sorry, but it looks like your code is really not in the database, please contact EA." When I had contacted EA, I was given a new activation code which also did not work, and then they hung up and sent me an email saying my problem ticket had been closed. I contacted EA by phone again, was given another new activation code, which also then did not work, and then I was told the servers must be down, with no other suggestion, not even a suggestion that I wait any particular period of time, end of call. The next day I emailed EA, and never received a response. So EA was not helpful at all.
At least it works now!

Hate to do this, but I am in the same boat, myself. I bought the game from Gamersgate last night and still have yet to get it to work. They are a Swedish-based company so I am trying my best to be patient with the time difference, but I thought I should let people know:
I called EA today, and customer support told me that they cannot offer me a new activation code because I have a Mac (this may be your problem, Maineh). He said that only a handful of companies (Direct2Drive, Gamersgate, etc.) offer the game for the Apple computer.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be EA's servers not responding. I tried the same code a day later and it went through fine.

I have the Ultimate Edition, I have downloaded Digital Deluxe Mac version from the internet (there's no other way) because I have read that the keys are the same, and when I put the key, it tells me: "Activation Key Not Found". What do I have to do? Buy Mac version too? Please, help me I don't know what to do, Origin is not in Mac.

Hello Prologo,
To be able to play Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition on your Mac you will need to own the Mac version, the keys for each version are different.
Please respond back if you require further assistance.

I bought the game through GamersGate and also having the same issue. Getting absolutely no where. Gamers Gate told me to contact EA and Bioware. EA told me to contact my vendor and Bioware. Vendor tells me to contact Bioware as it's not a problem at their end. Can't find how to contact Bioware as the support and contact page keep redirecting me to the EA support desk. Really, REALLY frustrating!
