Hmm another game like RDR would be great

He said RPG not adventure.

Read Dead was only a few tweaks away from being a RPG. Nevertheless, I don't see to many non-fantasy 'real-world' games being interesting enough to draw fans to the game/genre. Now a Steampunk RPG could easily fill the fantasy aspect. As mentioned, Fallout is probably the closest you'll get to a Western, but then again it has mutants, sex robots and aliens.

we have rpgs covering all kinds of differnt stuff, fantasy worlds, post apocalyptic times, space travel etc. i am sure everyone knows what games i am talking about. we still dont have a really good rpg on the old west. i think everyone would agree that one of the reasons that red dead redemption was so good was the open world and the freedom to do whatever you want. still it was no rpg. we can dig up a lot of different character classes if we go through movies or older games, could even have different beginings like DA, you know, maybe a bandit, a sheriff, or an iroquis or something. what do you guys think?

Its probably best to leave American Indians/ Native Americans (people of indigenous descent of North America) out of this one. That may be too political a subject to touch. Best leave it out. Just say'in.

Talk cowboys all you want. Horses, 1800's. Yeah.

Well, American game industry has already insulted half of the World's nations - So why not to add Native Americans to the list :wizard:

What for --- when people think of wild west, they thing of action and adventure. I just can't see someone leveling up a character to what... have a turn based gun fight in the dusty street?

No thanks. There are just some genres that aren't fit for RPGs.

LOL Only half?

Its a cheap shot. Besides most people think American Indians/Native Americans don't exist anymore. Which they do. Its my opinion that they have suffered enough in America. Let them be. That's my opinion. Feel free to disagree. ;)

If you really want an explicitly Wild West RPG then play one of the Wild Arms games...except Wild Arms 4, that one sucked.  Wild Arms 2 was my favorite.

That's what I was thinking...Wild Arms is very wild West. I can't remember if I played 4, but 2 is a great game.

Isn't RDR going to be ported to the PC next year? I don't like westerns per se but I could see them making a really good RPG that I would probably have a shot at if it was well done...

Another zombie game. Great. Fitting I guess, that the trend just won't die.

Haha, yea right. Someone should of done a really nasty (think Romero/Savini/Italian exploitation films ) style zombie rpg back in the day though, before they played it out.

They cheezed the whole zombie thing by making kiddie games out of it. They should of done a real deal-ao rated, cannibal/zombie, FREAKSHOW. lol.

You LOTR guys know P. Jackson, right ? You should check out one of his earlier movies "Braindead".
