1) Liara - Incredibly powerful biotic and my Shepard's LI.
2) Wrex - My Shepard's bro and virtually unstoppable in combat.
3) Garrus - Provides sniper support and is also my Shepard's bro.
4) Legion - Most skilled engineer possible, plus his robot dance will keep the team's spirits up.
5) Zaeed - Decades of experience, always gets the job done.
6) Mordin - The tech guy. Keeps the weapons etc upgraded and spams incinerate on Krogans.

NPC Team
1) Shiala - On screen for about 3 minutes and I still like her more than half of the crew.
2) Kal'Reegar - One of the few Quarians I like. Serious badass.
3) Captain Anderson - Yeah he's old, but so is Zaeed.
4) Kirrahe - "We will hold the line!"
5) Feron - Well, why not?
6) Blasto - Actually with this guy the 5 above probably won't be needed. Or Shepard, actually.

I am conflicted about number 6. I could use a good biotic in that lineup (aside from Wrex), but I like Grunt more.

1. Garrus: LI and best friend, I love that his comments are a mix of being polite and bad ass

2. Jack she's always been my main biotic (can't take Miranda and Samara seriously in combat with skimpy outfits and heels, at least I can 'fix' Jack's outfit) plus my paragon earthborn remembers being that angry and defensive and wants to help her.

3. Tali BFF

4. Kasumi, she's funny in her mission comments and useful in combat

5. Mordin you need a genius scientist who can sing, you just do

6. Thane, warp, warp is so very useful and Thane's batman vanishing acts are cool

1) Garrus: Excellent sniper, tactician, and leader if necessary. Plus, the turian held off the galaxies top three mercenary gangs for a period of twenty-four hours - by himself.

2) Samara: As a Justicar, Samara is, without a doubt, one of the most powerful biotics in Asari space.

3) Legion: If one can get past the fact that Legion is part of a race that almost doomed organic life as we know it (although the "Heretics" not the "true Geth" are to blame), then one can find a synthetic sniper whose skill with small-arms fire can outmatch even the best of organic marksmen.

4) Tali: Although Tali may not be the best fighter, she is a mechanical and technical savant. Tali can ensure that Normandy, the crews armory, and all necessary electronics are up-to-date.

5) Mordin: Just like Tali, Mordin's exceptional knowledge outshines his combat abilities. Mordin is a brilliant scientist whose superior intelligence can help develop and refine useful technology for the Normandy crew.

6) Jacob: As a former Alliance and Corsair officer, Jacob has the discipline and skill to complete any mission. However, Jacob's outstanding moral conscious and honesty is what truly sets him apart from the pack (not to mention his talent for biotics).

Mordin - cause he's awesome.

Grunt - Wrex is busy and he's adorable.

Legion - All good squads need a robot.

1) Wrex (invincible krogan battlemaster, plus he is smart and witty to boot)
2) Liara (the most powerful biotic in the universe (at least gameplay-wise))
3) Miranda (extremely versatile and good in any situation)
4) Legion (best tech expert available, fearless in combat)
5) Thane (best assassin available, one of the best heavy hitters)
6) Mordin (ex-STG member and a genius - invaluable squadmate)

Garrus would be a very close seventh, it was tough leaving him out. If I could not have Wrex, I'd replace him with Grunt.

-Shadow Broker - Seeing how nasty the Yahg are, why wouldn't you have one in your squad? (Obviously ignoring the conflict with Liara lol)

-Zaeed - If this devolve to close quarters, he's got the look of someone you'd want on your side for some fisticuffs

Squadmate-Only Team:
1. Tali. Bad**s engineer, and LI.
2. Garrus. Trusted liutenant.
3. Wrex or Grunt. A krogan bruiser is a must.
4. Legion. Syntetic Sniper. And also funny team-upped with Tali.
5. Thane. Stealthy assassin.
6. Some strong biotic. I guess Samara or Liara might do the job.

NPC Team
1. Mordin. Still wanting him as my medic, sexual consueloir and singer xD
2. Aria. Just to see her and Wrex face to face.
3. Aethyta. The first asari who speech about ripping spines. No other explanations needed.
4. Admiral Daro'Xen. Tali needs someone of her kind to knok out.
5. Conrad Verner. Cause even a Paragon needs a reason to got angry.
6. Harbringer. I want Shep facin him and say something like "Assume the control of this bullet, bastard!"

2. Liara. She's my main LI and she's good for... well, annoying me... just like a real life LI I guess.
3. Garrus. Just for being such a badass.
4. Wrex. I don't like him, but he sure is handy in a fight.
5. Tali. Just in case, you know, something needs hacking. Also makes me feel like I'm not carrying around all this medigel for nothing. Also... them hips.
6. Legion. He's got a Widow. I know I should really pick Mordin here but... well... Legion's got a Widow.

1. Garrus - well, DUH. He's Shepard's BFF and I need a good sniper watching over me. Plus headshots wouldn't be as Impressive without him there.
2. Tali - LI, though I have to admit her tech powers were a lot better in ME1. If they keep in Energy Drain and Explosive Drone but bring back Carnage and actually make her AI hacking work, she'd be on the squad every mission.
3. Wrex - sorry Grunt, but if Wrex gets tired of Krogan politics, he's a shoo-in... plus he actually has biotics.
4. Aethyta - she could have all the biotics of Liara, and 2x the snark of Wrex. C'mon, she's even got some krogan in her, she's not just going to tend the bar for the rest of her life.
5. Kai Leng - Shepard needs a Token Evil Teammate, and he could have all of Zaeed's powers and all of his badassitude, just alot younger and hating all the aliens he's working with. Plus, it's about time one of the other humans on the squad was (ex) N7.
6. Urz - sic 'em, boy!

If I had to pick only six of them then these are the six.

1. Tali. Tech savvy and can keep the Normandy running at peak efficiency.
2. Legion. Calculating and precise, can outsnipe Garrus IMO. Also tech savvy.
3. Garrus. Shepard's bro and and one of the best organic snipers revealed.
4. Wrex. The muscle of my squad. An elite battlemaster that can easily dispatch groups of fighters.
5. Mordin. The brains of my squad. Can keep the squad healthy and develop new tech. Ex-STG.
6. Samara. One of the most powerful biotics in the known galaxy.
