Moondoggie said there was no other place to go since JE's ending was complete, but they never did more than mention Phoenix Gate, and I, for one, would like to have a sequel about that. It would be an interesting new area to explore. Or, like DA 2, they could go back in time, maybe to the era of Sagatious Tien, the first emperor. There was a whole lot of history mentioned in JE that could be the source of a new plot.

If a game is successfull and profitable for the publisher then they will be willing to put up more cash for the developer to make games which means better quality games overall.

What do you mean by "generic"? JE is just a copy of KOTOR in an oriental setting anyway so that could be called generic.  Tell me where i said i don't like JE? It's likeable but suffers from aging. The controls are not very good the fighting feels sticky and the voice acting is very poor for the most part. It was a good game in it's day but Bioware is now capable of bigger and better things thanks to the large slice of the budget they get from EA's pot. Hence i said a remake would be a good idea because they could make the game they intended to make while being free of the limits of Microsofts poor management and demands to make games suited mainly to the capabilities of the X Box

Jade Empire is a copy of KOTOR in an oriental setting? You really have me fooled there, because I don't see it.

Compared to newer BioWare games, yes, Jade Empire is lacking, compared to other BioWare games during its time, it was leaps and bounds ahead of anything else.

That's not a real reason. Like you said, look at Dragon Age 2 -- they completed the story in Origins, but they just branched off to something else. They could've done the same with Jade Empire. If they had, I guarantee it would have outsold Dragon Age in every way imaginable.

Don't get me wrong -- I like Dragon Age -- I think it's fantastic, but it's a setting that has been done too many times now. Elves, Ogres, Dragons, Dwarves, etc. Jade Empire was something new that hadn't been done very many times. I don't know of many other quality games that are set like Jade Empire, if any.

Exactly. I've seen Dragon Age's elves, dwarves etc, KOTOR is just Star Wars again and Mass effect was more imaginative but felt alot like Star Wars (Biotics=The Force pretty much, aliens, etc).

JE felt really unique and was so absorbing

maybe they can make it a downloadable game. it'll be cheaper and they can put less resources etc.
