Here's a thread to post a picture of your favourite bridge:

Feel free to discuss bridges. I just love the view down on this one, as well as how curvy it is.

First thing that came to mind...

I'll take your part
When darkness comes
And pain is all around
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down

Any bridge that connects me to the lovely ladies of the world *eyebrow waggle*

Ok this one was particularly bad...

Still, my favorite is that one in France... that very high one, what is its name?

Esfehan - Iran
"It was built by Shah Abbas II around 1650, on the foundations of an older bridge. It has 23 arches and is 105 metres long and 14 metres wide." -Wikipedia-

Why? Because of nostalgia. Well, mostly because I caught my largest pike as of yet under it.

And it was named the prettiest bridge in Sweden one year for some reason.

Edit: That was 1997.

Waterloo Bridge:
 Posted Image

...not an attractive bridge by any means. In fact, it's a bit of a concrete eyesore, but I stood on that bridge when I was 16, looked at the skyline and the mass of buildings and decided I was going to move to London, then and there.

Millenium Bridge:
When I visited from Waterloo station (just at the end of the bridge) I used to walk along the Thames to the London Eye there, where another awesome bridge (pedestrian only!) is opposite the Tate Modern:Posted Image

...I even got to go on it when it was bouncey due to engineering fail!

Camden Lock:
And when I show people London, somehow you end up on a bridge regardless. I got fond memories of being drunk out of my skull and sitting on in Camden singing David Bowie songs with tramps.:

...I'll stop being nostalgic and old now. <,<

I'm going with the Queen Elizabeth II bridge

Posted Image

Why? Because I'm (genetically) a bloody Southerner and it links to Kent, which is the county of my heritage. I vaguely remember going over it many years ago on a visit to Kent, and also coming back via the Dartford Tunnel. I've only seen the bridge a few times in my life, but it has sort of stuck in my mind. That said, it's a very nice piece of engineering.

Two of mine are both for sentimental reasons...

The Seven-Mile Bridge near Marathon in the Florida Keys.
Posted Image

And the Rion-Antirion (or Charilaos Trikoupis) Bridge across the Gulf of Corinth in Greece.
