Guys, remember when BW said that the devs on Montreal will be 'expanding the Mass Effect universe' ? It's a prequel.
A prequel huh?
Will the plot involve the taxation of trade routes then?
I saw what you did there

Just looks like a generic grey shooter to me, whatever it is. Hardly impressive or fresh.
I get the feeling you would say this about any shooter.

A straight up 3rd person shooter would make sense for two reasons....
1: It would help introduce the franchise to another new audience prior to the launch of ME3, and...
2: It would explain the news tidbits about Bioware looking for people to help streamline the Mass Effect combat system for online multiplayer.

I like (some) shooters. Half-Life 2, Crysis and especially Unreal Tournament are all faves of mine. That's not what I come to BioWare for though, and there are more than enough companies out there pushing out generic shooter and action titles as it is these days. That said, I'm all for it if it means BioWare will start making their RPGs more RPGy again. If it takes them making a more mainstream IP for the common gamer to get their RPGs back to their more niche roots, then all power to them. If whatever this is is just another sign of the direction the company seems to be taking as a whole lately though... no thanks.

Hey guys, someone found this and I think it's kinda interesting. It might just be a coincidence, but as you may have noticed, there is a striking resemblance between the two rifles.
Mass Effect expansion maybe? Or maybe a ME spin off? Who the hell konows? Guess we will find out on december 11.
Also here's the teaser trailer. www.youtube.com/watch

I agree, but both of us no absolutely nothing about this game... It could really be anything at this point. I just don't think it should be criticized so quickly.

The first spits out binary which translates to the atomic mass of Iron. The second gives out -128.5 degress F. Which is the lowest temperature ever recorded on Earth.
I'm guessing the game will be called Cold Iron or Iron Cold. BTW the screens looks like it's a post apocaliptic setting

"a medium system in Mass Effect (look it up on Mass Effect wiki) with four planets and an asteroid belt called Vostok." The Soviet "Vostok Program" resulted in the first manned space flight. Oh, and that asteroid belt it mentions? The wiki page lists it as a "metal-rich asteroid." You know what else is metal? That's right, iron!

People, prequel will suck. Think of it: first contact war was with turians, and it finished when Council intervented. So unless you want to see only humans and turians, or play diplomatic game (hehe sniper rifle) then prequal will be boring.
Only if Bioware make it boring. We know only vague details about what happened in that war so Bioware would have a lot of freedom should they want to go down that route. The only reason I don't think they will having thought about it is it would be too similar to Halo in premise, and if they went down the Black Ops route, too similar to CoD.
