Um.... It has been announced. Back in August. Get with the program please.

Now onto the teaser, it could be an Earth marine? We've never seen any. I'm not saying it's mass effect, but i'm not ruling it out either.

obviously i know it has been announced at this point..im talking about OFFICAL announcement, as in media coverage, trailers, game info, release date, ect.  we all know that Mass Effect 3 is in developement at this point in time, but unless they plan to officially announce ME2 for PS3 the same day, i dont see this as being anything more than an expansion, or a whole other game.

No it isn't. I noticed differences in length of the barrel and it wasn't extended properly. It is similar, but not even close to identical.

The teaser is CG, so it's not game engine footage. Besides, ME3 is sticking with the Unreal engine.

Yup, but I don't think it will use a new engine, since Muzyka and Hudson said before the graphics engine in ME2 is exactly the way they like it and they won't be doing much tweaking to it for ME3. Maybe small tweaks here and there.

Dragon Age 2 has a different art style from the first game too.

Really?  I would've never guessed.  Looks a Hell of a lot better than the first game.

The difference in art style between DA:O and DA 2 was a deliberate choice by the devs. Not the same at all. It's already been said that Unreal will be the engine for the whole ME trilogy. BioWare are happy with how ME2 looks and the style won't change much for ME3.

I'm surprised no one mentioned that cylinder shaped object that guy is holding at the end of the teaser said it was a cigar and the Illusive Man was holding it. He always had a cigar in his hand in Mass Effect 2. This teaser could star a young Illusive man like people suspect.

That would be awesome!

But I'm doubtful since if you were able to make different choices as in other games, you wouldn't be able to tell from how TIM behaves in the games and novels.

The Incisor wasn't used until nearly 30 years after the first contact war. It would have to be an insanely early protoype to even be part of the war.

And first contact war hardly had any ground combat. There wasn't much combat at all. It was more like a brief skirmish in space.

If this is Mass Effect 3 then I wonder who this character is. Could he be a companion? A romance option? Maybe a bromance?
