A BioWare multiplayer game, just like any other EA multiplayer game would conform to the current perception of what a 'good' muliplayer game is, which can only be determined by what sells, which equals no progress.

We're reaching a stage where only small studios and independant developers can push gaming in a better direction, but they'll almost always be overpowered by those with the finances to guarantee sales through marketing.

Or maybe I'm just a cynic.

I don't think a clear EA influence has shown through on any BioWare games yet, and if I had to guess BioWare would come up with something original, as they haven't had a habit of conforming to gaming standards.

To some the direction ME2 has taken compared to the original could be a clear sign of EA's influence. It's debatable, and I'm not particularly leaning to either side on that one, but there could be some truth to it.

Come to think of it, the rush release of Dragon Age 2 is quite similar to EA's policy of churning games out as well.

Personally, I think that's a crock of ****.

If BioWare goes against everything I just said and copies a multiplayer/ progression focused shooter, my intense enthusiasm for mass effect will likely die.

I really hope it's not a multiplayer shooter. Who needs another one of those, and from Bioware of all companies? Bioware's strenghts are storytelling, interesting companions etc., leave the multiplayer shooters to those who know what they're doing. It would likely be a disaster, and I don't believe it.

Although I am positive many will rage over this announcement, I see actually see this as a good thing for Bioware. With this game not only will Bioware be able to expand upon the lore of the series, but since one of the key components is a strong focus on MP it will likely end up boosting the enjoyability of ME3's gameplay. Plus, it will likely mean that Bioware will leave the standard ME formula essentially untouched in ME3.

I'm guessing ME3 with MP.

As [kotaku.com] (Blackout62) pointed out earlier, the two numbers that Bioware have alluded to were: 55.845 and -128.5°F. The mass of iron and the coldest temperature on earth.

Gotta love it when a company that specializes in one category, produces a game in another just to boost sales with a larger "fanbase". But I doubt that's Mass Effect. The way they structured the trailer, it seems like its a new IP.

This, this this this this. It wouldn't be mass effect if they ignored all the other races. I would love to play as a Turian or an Asari! Krogan could also be a blast in MP!

I think a lot of people believe an fps would turn out as Call of Duty: Mass Effect. Even the rumor on Kotaku seemed to imply that. This could justify any anger towards the concept; call of duty should be call of duty. Mass Effect can be mass effect.

Not that this game couldn't be different from previous mass effect games. It just can't be a clone of another game.

Well, that's pretty much the first thing I thought, given the "evidence" so far. I just hope it sticks to third person, I would hate a FPS.
Also, remember that all bioware rumors turn true in the end.

If people think it ruins their ME3 experience, don't play it. But for people that would love to see it, why not? I personally would give it a shot and if I like it, I like it.



It won't ruin anything. It just brings more fans for BioWare that weren't BioWare fans before.

Well, as stated countless times, that is clearly the Incisor. Obviously this points to Mass Effect in some way. With the multi-player programming job ad thing for Bioware, again it obviously points to multiplayer.



I believe this could, however, not be the standard online shooter AKA COD. I am thinking that with Bioware's excellent story-telling, this could be a game that features co-op. It would work well for Bioware I feel. Take a story like the First Contact War, create a bunch of missions for co-op play, and tell a story that we haven't heard much about.



Just my 2 cents, I'll have to learn some patience and wait for December 11th I guess.
