And when it comes to multi-plyaer possibilities, I remember reading something about Bioware requesting people to work on something multiplayer a while back. Everybody assumed it was mass effect, maybe because they said it was, its a little fuzzy. If it is a multi-player focused game, I wouldn't worry, because Bioware will still just make it awesome. And if its Mass Effect related, that could draw in a lot of potential buyers for ME3. Imagine if somebody released a Call of Duty RPG game right now, how many people would get it? Building up a name for an already highly anticipated sequel. Unfortunately, thats not good. Fortunately, I'm sure that Bioware would be nice enough to at least figure something out so that we play with the (mostly) decent, respectable people from this website.

If it's a good game i will check it out, maybe rent it first, but im not feeling even close to pumped for this. It just seems like a money grab, and will likely sell more than the core ME games due to the fact that theres more morons buying games who just like shooting things (lets not get too complicated now) than people who enjoy the finer things (like ME2!), and then we can look forward to even more of this uninspired crap being released over and over again.
I would love to give bioware the benefit of the doubt here, but seriously, the kotaku rumours 'source' is apparantly a member on the title, states that it's in the vein of CoD - WTF! If this is true than bioware wanna be just like them, which is just sad to see and the shape of junk to come.
For the sake of mass effects cred i really hope it kicks ass and im completely wrong and eating my own word out the toilet when this thing comes out.

All those who are fretting about the multi player focus shouldn't worry too much. This is Bioware we're talking about and I'm sure there is going to be a great single player campaign that will expand on the Mass Effect universe.

I'll be fine with a multi-player first person shooter in the Mass Effect universe provided it...
1.Has a strong storyline which does justice to the main Mass Effect series
2.Does something to distinguish itself game play wise.

I remember Squaresoft(now Square/Enix) was in the same position Bioware is in now during the late 90's. They were the absolute, undisputed Gods of the RPG genre and everything they made was a must buy on day 1. However, they began experimenting with racing games, shooting games, and fighting games and with a few exceptions, most of them really sucked or were mediocre.

Pretty much says a "development source" says the game is the ME multiplayer game.

This! Fable 3 left such a bad taste in my mouth. Got it Moday night at midnight, time of death was 1:33 pm Thursday... RPG my butt.
On topic: Im hoping this is some ME3 trailer or a massive expansion/ DLC. The fact that this wbsite has essentially been dead since LotSB is a good sign that something big is coming down the pipe.

I'll give Bioware this, they gave the forums a pulse again. Even if they are evil, cruel, and manipulative bastards toying with out emotions.
Btw, somebody needs to make a group that compiles all of these screenshots and the theories. Cna't wait to see what Zulu DFA when he gets his hands all over this

As [kotaku.com] (Blackout62) pointed out earlier, the two numbers that Bioware have alluded to were: 55.845 and -128.5°F. The mass of iron and the coldest temperature on earth.
Mass of iron & coldest temperature on earth
Mass of FE (iron) & CT on earth
Mass FE CT on earth
Mass Effect on Earth!
Just a thought.

Let's see - ME2 has about 18 different weapons that cannot be customized along with a unispired level-up menu. The most recent CoD game has over 50 different weapons, about 7 attachments per gun, and the ability to select from over 15 unique perks and killstreaks. Now before you are quick to deem multuplayer games "mindless", which one seems more complicated to you?

If its multiplayer, the braindead
morons who buy it wont care any more or less, but it would give us
something to look foward to in ME3.
*looks at Halo 3, Kiillzone, TF2 and other various shooters in my collection*
Crap, I guess I don't deserve this scholarship afterall. <_<

I would expect RPG players of all people to be more accepting of our brethren. FPS games are not "braindead" and not every player is a Mountain Dew fueled 12 year old. Quite honestly, most of the FPS out there today have very rich backstories and nice story progression. The problem is you have to look for it, and it isn't handed to you on a silver platter. (Normally this is through NPC lines that are easy to miss if you are not listening for them, or cut scenes that people skip).
Maybe I am just venting, but it seems like everyone here thinks that they are in some way "Above" the normal FPS player.

I hope its not a TPS. TPS multiplayer games are terrible for competitive play.
Oh, hi there, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, best competitive shooter on consoles. You're sitting right here, aren't you?
...Yes, of course I heard him.
...No, I don't think he's ever played you.
...Well, gosh, I don't know why, maybe he's not a fan of your aesthetic or something? I mean, people do call you Indiana Jones and the Tomb Raider's National Treasure for a reason.
Just as a side note, most of the above sentiment was me making a corny joke, but I do think Uncharted 2 has an excellent multiplayer component with a lot of depth. If you disagree, then feel free to prove me wrong. I love learning new things.

My guess is a multiplayer spin off from Mass Effect.

I think that this is pretty great if it's true, but I'm already starting to see a lot of people accusing BioWare of being "sellouts" just because their next game is focusing on something that's popular right now. It's a pretty self-obsessive attitude to have, and it basically screams "I'm an elitist prat who loves companies as long as they do what I tell them to, because my head is so far up my rectum that I genuinely believe that I can make more educated decisions than people who've been making video games longer than I've been alive."
There's nothing elitist about being creative. The industry currently lacks creativity. We are seeing the same ideas being recycled, in every genre, over and over again.
If 8 out of 10 games already support multiplayer, tell my why the remaining 2 absolutely must go the same way?
Sorry, but you people crying for mutiplayer are simply coming across as spoiled. It's not enough that one unique IP can stand apart from it..no, EVERY SINGLE IP I LIKE MUST BE MULTIPLAYER!!!!!!
Because, you know, there's so little to choose from.

Do me a favor and point out to me the part in my post where I expressed this sentiment. I like Final Fantasy, but I didn't ever play any of the ones with multiplayer support and I don't really feel the need to do so. Just because I happen to think that Mass Effect would do well in a multiplayer setting(it's a squad-based third-person shooter, come on) doesn't mean I think every single IP I like needs to have multiplayer, and I'll thank you kindly not to put words in my mouth, or whatever the internet equivalent to a mouth would be. Words in my...text box?
If BioWare wants to do this then more power to 'em. It's a good idea, and given BioWare's track record, it's hard not to trust them to do good things with it. They certainly haven't steered me wrong before, but then again, I never played Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.

well besides the fact that mass effect 2 was a sprawling, sci-fi epic, with moral choices (and consequences) and actual characterisation, and cod either consists of a) a terrible, testosterone fuelled single player campaign to get 12 year old boys salivating or
