What happened to a little originality? Or Jade Empire 2? And if this is multiplayer focused, I'm even less interested.
Overall, unless this is secretly ME3, its one big "meh." People want ME3 from BioWare right now, not some generic looking new IP or even a ME spinoff before ME3 is done.

Yeah, if this is indeed nothing ME related and is instead a new IP, I really don't care. I mean, of all the possible things BioWare could do with a new IP- like maybe some ancient mythological setting or Victorian/Steampunk or Wild West/Deadwood, they opt to make what seems like yet another grim/dark post apocalyptic, shooter with generic space marine/modern warfare manly man holding a gun? Really? Like there aren't a bazillion other games out there already?

Yea, and apparently kids love greek mythology. Just look how good God of War was! Clearly there is a market! But jokes aside whats funny is that if its not ME3 and is another shooter, then thats laughable as hell. The cover style of shooter that was me2 was horrid, slapping some new facepaint over the same busted gameplay won't fix it.

Looks like a your typical shooter to me. Is BW making their own version of Call of Duty, Medal of Honor or something?
How can one possibly come to this conclusion? It's a CGI trailer, showing a man with a gun, it could be pretty much anything. It's like saying Dragon Age Origins is a God of War kind of game after seeing the first trailer.

Also, if BW does come out with a multiplayer shooter, I'll be the first in line to buy it.
Then promptly send in an application because they're "doing it wrong"

I don't know, if they're going to throw out an ME clone, why not just throw out ME3? And if they're not, why would I buy the game?

Seems kind of strange for them to say, "the creators of Mass Effect and Dragon Age announce their next big game," if it was in fact another Mass Effect game.
I agree if we're talking Mass Effect 3. Seems less strange if it's a spin-off in the Mass Effect universe imho.

Pretty much everyone agrees ME2's gameplay was excellent. If you don't like it then you don't like cover based 3rd person shooters in general, ME2's gameplay is near perfect as far as this genre goes. Do you like Gears of War?Merced652 wrote...

What a well thought out and educated response. You're just coming off as a troll now. Your opinion is not the be all end all and both critically and with fans ME2's gameplay has been credited.Merced652 wrote...

Which strikes me as funny given those same people have said that the skills are largely useless outside of adrenaline rush, battles are made obvious by the amount of cover, your squadmates abilities ignore LoS because the AI is so bad, and there is no challenge to it. But yes, credited, by those same people who also called ME2 a RPG no doubt.

The skills are far from useless, every skill has a defined purpose and can tip a battle in your favor as well as adding general variety to the combat. Give me an example of a useless skill.Merced652 wrote...

So if it is a new IP you wont care, yet you still berrate them for not being original enough?.... People on the internet..... Dear, oh dear.Brockololly wrote...

Gears of War is faaaaaaaaaaaaar more polished on this front than ME2.. I mean leaps and bounds...
Rolling, ducking, blind fire, fairly intelligent AI, areas with creative cover rather than a thousand boxes/half walls, challange etc etc
ME2 was a wannabe Gears of War that had yes, useless skills, it's called all of the biotics.. If I have to churn through two levels of defenses before my biotics even work, and the health pool at the end is the lowest pool of all 3 then why throw pull when I can just... shoot him 3 more times until he's dead?
ME2 a near perfect cover based 3rd person shooter.. that's a good one

Again, why? Because you see a man with a gun? So, Mass Effects doesn't feature men with guns? What about, i dunno, Starcraft, was that a shooter as well?schalafi wrote...

That's called throwing us off track, making it hard to guess. If they hadn't said "Makers of Mass effect" it would have been painfully obvious what series it's from. Who knows, it could be a spinoff that isn't titled "Mass Effect..."
Maybe a stealth based game with RP elements taking place in the Mass Effect setting?
Or of course it could be a remake of Shattered Steel...(considering that COLD IRON hint we got in binary.)
Mech game RPG hybrid?
