What Do You Think Will Be the Final Decision in Mass Effect 3?

If there is one thing we've learned from Mass Effect, it's the tendency for there to be a "final decision". That is to say, a decision you get to make at the very end of the final mission/battle. For ME1, we had the Destiny Ascension/Council decision; for ME2, we had the Collector base situation. Logically, one would assume that this pattern will continue into ME3. However, given the fact that ME3 is going to be the end of Shepard's story, this may not be the case. But since when is the world predictable?

Personally, I think there may very well be an Ultimate Sacrifice choice which can be pursued as part of the final decision in ME3. For those of you who have played Dragon Age, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Of course, Shepard might not necessarily die at the end of ME3, but there might be an option to have her sacrifice herself for good, just as there might be another option to have her survive at the expense of someone else's life, for instance.

Just wild speculation on my part. Let's see what you all think. Do you even think there will be a final decision in ME3 at all? I, for one, do, as I explained above. After all, the ending of ME3 will supposedly be the epic, full-scale battle against the Reaper fleets, so something has to happen.

Either

Kill the Reapers and likely guarantee galactic death from too much mass effect usage, which the Reapers did all this to avoid-

OR

Blow Up the Dark Citadel, the Citadel's relay counterpart on the other side, and lose all the history and culture and knowledge the Reapers kept forever vs. something really bad.

Maybe we have to choose between:

- sacrifice the Alliance/Earth so the rest of the galaxy may live OR the opposite

- let humanity live but as a Reaper OR be crushed along with the rest of the galaxy

- either try to fight the Reaper fleet with an alliance of organics and geth, OR hinder the return of the Reapers by destroying the Citadel/all mass relays. This means either death of everything or the collapse of interstellar civilization as we know it.

Fight as one in the Mandatory Epic Final Battle, or pull some sort of cheap stunt that screws over the aliens so humans come out on top, assuming you even have the power to defeat the Reapers at all. I personally think it'll follow a pattern similar to the previous Mass Effect titles: your final decision affects mainly who gets what power, while whether or not anyone survives the finale at all is determined by decisions you made throughout the game. The first two games determine who's on your side.

Speculation, huzzah!

Maybe something more personal this time? Maybe even with different options depending on Shepard's carma? Like:

Shepard-Paragon: Liara turns out to be "corrupted" by TIM & power. Shepard has to choose: kill them both and live (with nightmares about poor Liara), or kill only TIM and die (possibly by Liara's hand but in so doing free her from the "evil spell").

Shepard-Renegade: TIM believes Shepard is ready to become his apprentice (in the Sith sense) and it's time to discard Liara, orders Shepard to kill Liara. Shepard has to choose: kill Liara and live (becoming a Darth Vader of sorts), or defy TIM and die fighting (& killing) him (becoming a redeemed Darth Vader).

Destroy the reapers but kill your entire squad including you.

Let the reapers go, scare them away and survive.

I think it will be both personal and a galactic shattering choice.

Let the reapers decimate the rest of the galaxy while humanity finishes their anti-reaper Death Star, securing human dominance over the now mostly helpless former Citadel races. Or, redirect the reapers at the cost of millions of human lives; humanity is no longer the unstoppable badass it used to be, but the rest of the galaxy is eternally grateful.

OR

Shepard at one point is given the choice of giant boss battle, or pull a Saren and join with the reapers to finish the Collector's job, and use the Human Reaper Mk.II to conquer the galaxy. There it will be revealed that the humans that made the reaper have their minds integrated ("We are each a nation"- Sovreign)and now humanity is a giant mind hive.

We'll be forced to destroy the citadel, destroy the only proper way into our galaxy for the reapers. Leaving the reapers standed forever . But doing so would leave the entire relay network disabled and thus isolating the entire galaxy once again.

I haven't thought of option 2 yet.

Seriously, who would even consider taking former choices? Later ones are so much more awesome.

Shepard saves the galaxy, and the council (like ME1) and then

Turian Councilor: Shepard you were right i'm sorry.
Salarian: We want you as king of the galaxy
Asari: I support that.

Thats cool, thanks, you all are fired!
You can put that crown in your ass, i'm gonna leave to another galaxy and save them too.

And Shepard leave the galaxy forever to fight new enemies, to find new species, and to make sure no reaper is sleeping in the dark space.

I wouldn't be totally against having no massive scale decision at the end. Maybe something smaller and more personal to the shepard you've created and the friends you've made

I want there to be many different major decisions at the end, or near the end, even throughout the game. This is the chance for the Mass Effect universe, and Shepard's choices particularly, to become incredibly epic.

I can't say I'm chomping at the bit to go through another Ultimate Sacrifice To Save The World ending.  DA:O wasn't the first game to do it and it most likely won't be the last, but I'd like to see ME go in a different direction.  Something new and different, not the same retread.

I'd like to see BW capitalize on the 'your choices matter' mantra.  If there is a major decision to make, make it a personal one, make it be the culmination of choices Shepard has made up until this point, for better or worse.

Vaguely, I'd say theres a "all aliens get along" option, and a "humans take over" option. Thats about sums up our other "big decisions" so I dont see 3 being any different. Plus, I want my chance to finish helping humanity get as much power as possible, its been my goal since me1 and it seems significant to the story arc so far.

Yeah, I hope so too. I'd like to somehow decide what to do with the batarians. Wipe them out to clear a flank, threaten/bully them to join the anti-Reaper cause or as an alternative make them join by diplomacy. Otherwise, it'd be fun to lead the Reapers to batarian space first so they soak damage and hinder the Reapers while the Council space races get extra time to prepare :D

Something retarded like sacrificing the entire citadel plus your crew to save yourself. Or a heroic sacrifice. I mean that's a bit of an exaggeration but your going to be put into some sort of situation that's the culmination of incredibly unlikely events that will almost make sense when put together. And it'll be an unavoidable plot point. Like the Collectors ambushing the Normandy and taking the crew.

It comes down to a few options in my head:

1 give the alliance wrong info and let the reapers attack humanity's major populated planets and create a human reaper

2 give the reapers the locations of other races home worlds and let humanity bolster its defenses in the meantime

3 humans take the hit for the galaxy and shep & friends die

4 IF and only If you pick the right choices from ME1 through ME 3 most of the galaxy lives
