 Seriously..... Why? Unless your a girl in real life.... But why does boys pick chicks? Seriously I never picked a girl gender in a game Ever in my entire life...

People have reasons to picking girls as their gender. I'm not here to correct them. Who Knows... Maybe if your a girl there could be a different storyline to the game.I'm just asking....

Aside for a possible ending for the human noble, no, there is no difference in the game. A few lines different here and there, one of the three available love interests changes, some clothes/robes look a bit different. Otherwise there is no difference. Just a matter of what the player whats to be.

Might as well try every available character in a game. Especially in an RPG where you have a character builder why not explore both genders? I play as both male and female regardless of whatever gender i am the character in the game is not me so it doesn't matter what gender i pick i am just creating a character and roleplaying them in the way i feel the character would act.



If it's not me how is it weird to play as a guy or a girl regardless of which i am?

I find it funny. I always choose a female avatar on all RPG games that I play. Mostly because the story lines are a little biased. But here on DA, I immediately started as male. And I actually don't know why. But I like it. I'm on my second run now but I still chose to be male. Maybe on my next runs.

I think it's because Morrigan is exclusive to males and she's pretty important.

The City Elf:Female does happen to be the best orgin story out of them all though.(just my opinion)

I belive its the only orgin that plays diffrent based on male/female.

I dont play chicks, I play women.

And I totally dont care at all if you dont, or are annoyed if I do, or whatever.

And if you ask "why?" I have to ask back "wtf why not ???"

Its not like I would be an elf either, right ? Still I play elves.

Or like I would know magic, yet I love playing magic characters.

Same way, about 50% of my characters are female.

City Elf Origin is definitely different whether you play male or female.

It is probably easier for many girls to identify with a female character. On the other hand, many guys probably like having a beautiful female to watch for the duration of the game.

I usually play male characters in video games, even though I'm female, but playing a woman in DA:O is very enjoyable. I never have to wonder if she moonlights as a stripper. Tje answer to your question is 'roleplay.' Some people do it , and want to experience all the content.

Why do i play as a female char? Well since almost all the games i get have a female char, i say part rollplay part identity, i identify with a female char then a male char, i can't stand the male char trat in games, it reminds me of so many people in see and speak to in real life, how they act.

The genreal view in games is the female char or npc is weak and defencless, which is far from the truth, when i was first playing games, some of the icons i grew up to was Samus Aran, Sonya Blade (Mortal Kombat) and few others, for me it's respect, yes sometimes i paly as a male char, but i don't identify in the same way or enjoy playing the game, unless it's really good, as i do unless it's female, call me odd but just how i am.

Why? Because there is an option to do so, some little things of the game are different, most guys prefer looking at a female butt throughout the game, I could go on and on, there are probably as many answers as there are players. One thing I must say, your question makes me think you're probably rather young and/or insecure about your gender You seem to feel you must prove something.

A combination of being tired with macho hero types, vastly prefering Alistair over Morrigan and, well, I just plain don't like the male running animation.



I don't particularly feel the need to share gender to identify with a character, either. I'm already looking at the game world and making choices from a perspective that's incredibly detatched from my own, but that doesn't make me incapable of empathising. So, why not?

Because if i'm gonna spend 100+ hours staring at someone's behind, better be a female one

Indeed at least a third of my wardens are female.
It gives the game... a different flavour.
