Because...I like girls, and I am far more content with staring at a girl for 40 hours+ versus say...staring at a man for my play through, now don’t get me wrong I’ve played both genders and I’m sure you mean no harm but the question sounds a bit condescending. It’s a role playing game....it was created to so we could immerse ourselves in a fictional world. the options are there for us to create a character we like, if we were only meant to play as our actual gender bioware probably would have slapped a "ok listen up, you are only to play as your actual gender, before you can start playing we'll require you to enter all personal information and give us a photo ID, thanks for your cooperation" could you imagine a world like that?
