I actually just started my first ever playthrough of the game today. And I named him Wrex.

I did this in memory of him because I accidentally got him killed in my first ME1 playthrough

I went a little crazy with the space bar while skipping some dialogue.

And I couldn't load my last save because it was like 1 hour prior to that, and I wasn't going to go through all of that again.

Sorta on topic but sorta not, my dog (Wrex) killed the Ogre at Ostagar.

He was the last companion I had alive, and took the Ogre down. Felt so good.

On my first playtrhough  I named my mabari Laurel; who was my girlfriend at the time, and on my second and ongoing playthrough I named it after a classmate- Ben.

My mabari is named Canis, or "dog" in Latin. Not very original, but my mage has never had a pet before and she surely knows some Arcanum (the Latin-ish language of the Imperium).

 What he gets named this time is largely at the mercy of my mood.   Some I've used...

1) Barkspawn
2) Buddy
3) Slimer
4) Nanaki
5) Seto

Buddy and Slimer both come from a dog I had when I was a kid.  Buddy actually was his name (that was just his personality; he thought he was everyone's buddy) and Slimer was a nickname I gave him after seeing Ghostbusters for the first time (as he tended to leave a slimy trail wherever he went). :innocent:

Tabris named it Merry. Couse he's weird like that. ^^
Cousland named it Dingo (that was the name of my own dog).
And Surana named it Rask, just because it thought it sounded interesting, sharp and dangerous.
Mahariel named it Maximo, because it's the biggest dog he's ever seen.
