I've usually named my dog after someone important to my character, for instance when I played a human noble I named him Bryce. Of course I couldn't resist calling Barkspawn at least once :-)

Tealc, because i'm a big fan of Stargate SG-1. Usually what i name my pet in other games if given the option.
Kinda fitting actually given it's never ending loyalty and that it never talks.

I also name him Vesper. After one of my many dogs.
Not that they have anything in common in terms of appearance... My dog's much prettier.

Wow there are a lot of good names on here i really like the idea of using gaelic, irish, scottish, welsh or british very clever. also props to the people using names from mythology i love ancient mythology or using the names of grat generals or rulers thats what ive been planning to do with my real life dogs. also props to the ppl naming the after important chars of the origins there playing i like that idea.
Jazz ( after the best dog ive ever had in my life was a rottweiler american version R.I.P.)
Lacey ( after my 1st hunting dog was a german shorthaired pointer R.I.P.)
Max (after my black labador still alive )
Izzy (after my current rottweiler german version)
Dane ( after the ancient Ferelden hero this one is my favorite and the 1 i plan on using from now on after i make 1 more with jazz cause i deleted that old char.)
im also kinda surprised that no1 has used lassie, red or Ol' yeller
