Isn't this list kind of early anyways? There are still a few big releases that have yet to come out this year.
I agree. I also think they added too many recent entries...
I mean, Fable III is still being relatively digested review-wise, so I don't know if it should have been nominated for anything... also because of the fact that it was lackluster compared to Fable II imo...
Not sure I'm even gonna vote. Maybe I'll just vote for Jennifer Hale.
I haven't looked at the site yet... I forgot, the VGA's are done by audience vote as well, right?

Black Ops was just released how the hell can they call it GotY already such bull. And God of War wasn't that impressive either. And Blizzard is a joke
Selling 5.6 million copies in 24 hours says so.

The sports game list makes me weep how is FIFA in it? The manager mode doesn't and has never worked properly. No NHL 11? F*ckin hell.

Best Studio: Rockstar (I can see Bioware getting shafted)
Best Wii Game: Super Mario Galaxy 2 no contest
Best Xbox Game: Halo Reach (Alan Wake was nominated? Really?)
Best Ps3 game: God of War 3
Best PC: Starcraft II
Best Handheld: Professor Layton (At least I hope so)
Best Shooter: Probably Halo Reach, could be Black Ops knowing Spike.
Best Action Adventure Game: Red Dead Redemption (Also hoping Assassin's Creed)
Best RPG: Mass Effect 2 (Safe to assume)
Best Multiplayer: Halo or Call of Duty again
Best individual sports: UFC 2010 (I mean, Spike airs the league, they will give it the award)
Best Team Sports: Maddan 11. (Like FIFA has a chance on an American awards show)
Best Score: Mass Effect 2
Best voice male: Hoping for Sheen, but probably go to Sam Worthington
Best voice female: Would like Hale, but Yvonne will win.
Game of the Year: Hoping Mass Effect or Red Dead. Will probably be Halo Reach
Really though, the Spike awards is like the bottom of the barrel for Video Game awards.

That's not Final Fantasy XIII, that's Final Fantasy XII!
EPIC FAIL!
Also, I agree that Alan Wake should not have been nominated. That game was a massive disapointment that was seriously lacking in any kind of game play diversity. It's basically just one good idea extended for WAY WAY too long. It's too bad because I LOVED Max Payne and Max Payne 2.

I'd say the real competition is Blizzard though, regardless of how you think about it Starcraft is quite the beast to go up against.

Sheen sucked in ME2, and BioShock 2 hasn't got a chance in Hell of winning best shooter. It was, at least for the PC, an absolutely abysmal port with very little support, and it's just... Not as good as it should have been. And BioWare? Studio of the year? Haha! A year of little communication, a ballsed up community event, Awakening's abysmal release quality, buggy/poor quality DLC? Not a chance.
But, as always, I wouldn't vote for much in that list. Jen Hale as Shep, yes. ME2 for best PC? Maybe, but I've not played the others. It's biased towards the bigger studios.
Yea, that will probably hurt them.
I think the only two things I'd vote for are:
- Far Away by José González, for Best Song in a Game (RDR)
That song was played at just the right moment in the game that as soon as it ended, I had to hop on the internet to find all the info on it. I even d/led the entire album just for that song.
- RDR, for Game of the Year
Just a fantastic game overall.

Just had to second this. Made that moment so dramatic and awesome. Immeadietly had to buy a couple of José's albums.

And Marston's VA should win for male performance while Hale should win for female performance, hands down. ME2 for best score also, though RDR's was also excellent.

That didn't play for me for some reason so it never had the impact. Dead Man's Gun by Ashtar Command that plays later on though I thought was excellent and I'm surprised it didn't get nominated too.Kordras wrote...
I'm so torn between Mass Effect 2 and Red Dead Redemption for GotY. And if Fable III wins anything... *facepalm*demonology89 wrote...

Wow...that's almost as bad as COD:BO being up for GoTY
And FFXIII had the best soundtrack ever! And I know ME2 is obviously gonna win best RPG so XIII is gonna go home empty handed. *sad eyes* I hate you spike.

Square/Enix should really needs to replace Tetsuya Nomura. Yo****aka Amano who did the character designs of I-VII is a FAR superior artist.
Edit:lol, it auto censored the artist's name.

Final Fantasy XIII's graphics are good from a technical standpoint but the art design is crap. The environments look like a futuristic Disney land and all of the characters look like Japanese pop stars.

I completely disagree.

I completely disagree with your disagreement. While FF13 was entertaining it took 25 hours to get going and even then it felt souless with some of the worst character designs I've ever seen. Snow is the worst character I have ever witnessed in a game and Lightning is just a pointless b*tch. The soundtrack was forgettable at best. The reason it will finish empty handed is because it doesn't deserve to win a damn thing. I certainly won't be buying another FF unless there is a major shake up after playing through FF12 and FF13.Ghost Lightning wrote...
