I hope so. I feel like I've had every possible argument in the DA:2 forums and have happily moved on to Football Manager 2011 as a source of entertainment. So more new news (on DA:2 or ME3/whatever this is) is definitely welcome.
More or less the same, but instead of playing football manager, I restarted playing Ufo : enemy unknown....Ahhh, great old times!
Anyway, back on the topic, I think that Dave got it right. It seems that this is a ME if not a MMO. Too bad that chances of it being BG3 are now 0.

If they only posted it in the ME forums that'd be almost a confirmation.

Wow, off topic? Unless they really are injecting gritty shoooter action into Dragon Age?
It's called announcements. They tend to do them across announcement forums from time to time to hide any confirmation.

For your viewing convenience. It looks kinda post-apocalyptic.

There's also a shadow to the upper right.

Personally I think people are jumping on the Shanxi thing far too easily. Too big of a leap, logically speaking, based simply on the fact it's a warzone and there's a human.

Like I said on the ME forums, TFCW would not make an exciting game.

I hope it isn't Shanxi unless it is a multiplayer game, because then the single player campaign would be a sideshow anyway. We know what happens at Shanxi, I don't really have any desire to re-enact it.

There's not too many war zones that don't have Shepard in them, Shanxi being one of the only ones. If the game was say... about the Skyilian Blitz or that Ruthless story planet, it would be odd not seeing a Shepard there but seeing him there would retcon what we already know.
ME1 and ME2 wise, there's no real war. So it has to be a prequel to sequel. Sequel would lock down some events in the timeline while prequel can expand upon the universe.
Knowing what happens at the war doesn't make the game any worse, just like how Reach was amazing even if we knew how it ended.
If it's made by Bioware Montreal, it'll be a multiplayer game.

But if its some new IP with yet another gritty, grimy manly man dude with a gun in washed out post apocalyptic ruins? Oh yes, don't strain yourself for originality there BioWare...
I'm with Brock on this one. I trust Bioware, but really, another space marine? Not that we have any confirmation of him being a space marine (or even the protagonist, for that matter), but if that is the case I'll be pretty annoyed.

That we know of. Yet. Furthermore there's no reason to suspect Shepard isn't involved simply because the 3 second teaser doesn't show him.

Anyway, I would find Shanxi/The First Contact War hard to reconcile with the Aequitas theory, that I'm partial to obviously.

Both of which, to me, are detrimental to ME's integrity.
I suppose if it's multiplayer, a Shanxi turians vs humans conflict could make sense, but then, I'm just not going to be interested in it.

It's a fictional story in a fictional setting. They could make anything up and it would enter the canon, that's why I'm trying to stick with what the given hints actually point towards instead of looking for answers as to what scenario the 3-second clip might imply within the existing storyline.

there in is a pic of a guy I don't recognize leaning out of a window
with what appears to be an incisor sniper rifle. Below in the distance
look like streets covered with debris. Doesn't say much, does it? One
thing you could take away would be that if this mysterious man has an
incisor sniper rifle, which means it's not a prequel.
