look like streets covered with debris. Doesn't say much, does it? One
thing you could take away would be that if this mysterious man has an
incisor sniper rifle, which means it's not a prequel.

Those clips we had of DA2 and ME2 are probably more revealing.

I was just going to say that. Definitely feeling a Mass Effect spin off here. It makes the most sense to me, if only because it would seem odd for Bioware's next IP to bear any resemblance to ME at all (what with the ME franchise being a perfect one to expand beyond the Shepard games anyway). I'll throw my vote in with a combo of Upsettingshorts and Dave's predictions: I don't think there is enough mystery surrounding the first contact war for it to warrant this much intrigue let alone a whole game (even considering the multiplayer focus), so my bet would be on an event (doesn't have to be a war from what we've seen) that takes place between ME1 and just before ME3.

Bear in mind we have no idea how long the time gap will be beteen ME2 and 3, this could easily fall in the gap in between dealing with a whole new event that leads in to the events of the third game. Then Bioware could have this new guy popping up (or other characters) in ME3 in cameos or more. Think the Jacob Iphone game but on a much larger scale.

Could even be a set up for the start of a huge war taking place in ME3.

Question, whats this got to do with Dragon Age? wouldn't a diffrent thread relating to bioware future games be a better place then the spaming sticky threads which only the Mass Effect ones be the best place for it? Threads get locked and closed cause it isn't talking about the content of the forum i'e Dragon Age, why is this different?

Because this was posted by Bioware in all the announcement forums as to not give away its a Mass Effect game.

*blink* Hmm, fun speculation time! Hmm, too bad I can't borrow an iphone to scan those codes, but I was thinking that the screenshot did look ME'ish. The Aequitas theory seems reasonable as far as location goes.

Okay, everyone seems to be assuming it's a Mass Effect spinoff. I agree that it's definitely ME related, but is there any reason it couldn't be ME3? I'm not saying it is, but everyone seems to be assuming that it's not.

Because they're announcing it as a new game. Not "From the makers of Mass Effect and Dragon Age comes...Mass Effect!"

Okay, that makes sense. Although ME3 would technically be a new game, I can still see the logic.

New and new about two years ago the game That was called "Project entropia" did a similar thing just more advanced, they also included Swedish Public Television made some webpages pretending to bee real life companies. Also they had ppl worikn posting on forums to introduce truth. Even thing there where some "home made" youtube videos. It was quite a show in what can be done with media as many ppl belived that it's on TV then its true

Looks like a new IP ooor there's speculation of Shattered Steel 2 I think RockPaperShotgun had an article about it, apparently one of the barcodes has been found to have a binary number which is equal to irons atomic weight or something I just read it on a different site, which of course steel is made from.



I dont know anything about Shattered to be honest, but hmm, I don't think it really looks like ME though I wouldn't eat a hat over it.

Mass effect 3 or mass effect spin off, I am going to go with the latter though... unless its that steel game people are talking about, but people would lose their **** if it was not something ME related
